I was talking with my friends over at Plas-Teak. I was looking for some new Synthetic Teak for a new project I'm working on and they told me to check out this boat they just completed. Now I know its not everyone's cup of tea and the colors are not what I would have picked out BUT it does catch your eye and gets people talking This was made to be a promotional boat so I guess that's what its doing

Bad ass! Don't usually see 4 of those 7 Marine motors even on the largest center consoles. For those that may not be familiar with 7 Marine's outboard package, they use the supercharged GM LSA engine from a Cadillac CTS-V. They are massive in person.

I saw both those boat at the Miami Boat Show... Impressive pieces for sure, that Wetsounds Hydrosport was loud... The Midnight Express is such a sweet boat, that one isn't exactly my style but I have always like Midnight Express.

4 Seven Marine 557's = 2228 HP

I think the 7 Marine 557 motors are around 65k each
Not sure what the Merc's are going for Just wondering why someone would go with 5 outboards And less HP then what 4 Seven Marine 557's would give Ya. ?

latest issue of boating listed the msrp on the 400verado's at around 35k each depending on shaft length and gearcase options.
175k for 2000hp vs 260k for 2228hp. that's a pretty big price jump for not a lot of added hp.

then you also have to factor in the big peni$ factor of 5 engines on the back vs 4

Wonder what the weight of 4 seven marine 577's is Vs 5 200 Verados? Then you have the extra drag of a extra motor that the Merc combo gives you. It would be Intresting to know what the performance numbers were when it comes to 4 Vs 5

verado 400 weighs 668lbs.
7-557 weighs 1094lbs.

therefore 5 400's come in at 3340 vs 4376 for the 7-557's. again, pretty significant for the 5engines.
