Hey guys I have a Ski Nautique 2001 and I searched around but could not find very much info on this...

I am going to put my sub behind the observers seat but am unsure on which way I should design the box to fit under there....(which way it should fire towards)

any help would be great..thanks

Forward, down, or toward the hull would all sound fine. It also depends on the sub. Forward toward the bow cavern would probably sound the best.

tell you what works in mine. I built a custom ported box behind the passenger seat. The sub fired toward the driver but was ported into the bow. It fills the whole boat with sound. My theory was to send the sound waves into the bow and let them bounce back in what is basically another box that is shaped like a megaphone. It worked!!! I had the cheapest sub in there and everyone always commented how good it sounded. When the boat was just idleing or coming back to pick you up you could hear it when you were in the water at 80 ft or more. If you store life jackets up front though they cant stack higher than the port from what ive found, otherwise the sound just isnt the same. Oh and the box was a scaled down version of a Klipsche home theatre ported down firing box. I just basically turned it on its side. Oh and i didnt make it out of mdf either, i chose to go with 3/4 inch aspen and varnished it. It looked like a piece of furniture, ive since removed everything though cus im working on ballast for the front

closed bows work great for subs. like a giant folded horn cabinet. here is the one in my 88 2001. hope i can make the sport slam like this does.
