Hi guys,
I think I finally found what im looking for. What's your opinion between 1998 MC Pro Star 205 or 1997 Sanger V210. We will be using it for wakeboarding. Both boats are in my price range and in great condition. Both have preflight towers.

Can't comment on the mc. But the sanger will handle like a race car. Rock solid in chop. Great wakeboard wake,a lil narrow, but gets big with minimal weight. Gph is great. Find 1 with the black scorpion though. And remember no power turns.

The 205 is a DD right? If so, V210 all the way.

I prefer my DD 205. What engine is in the 205?

I would always take a v drive over a d drive for wakeboard application

V210 all the way vs a direct drive 205. No need to even think about it for a second as a pure wakeboat.

The V210 will have more room in the cab but the 205 is still regarded as one of the best older hulls for wakeboading. Its the same hull as the original Xstar and the 205V then the X1, then X2. Mastercraft used that hull for a long time because it was really good. I had a 99 that was a pretty good boat but it was pretty small inside. If i was looking for just wake quality i'd probably go with the 205, but your gonna have fatsacs laying all over the interior.

Simply being a v drive makes it a better wakeboarding boat? I get the logic, don't necessarily disagree either but find it funny its being used so generally. Maristars come in V drives, but I'd take a direct drive Prostar every day over the V drive Maristars. The rule of thumb isn't always applicable.

Personally I was not speaking generally, the v210 is a great hull in v drive and d drive configuration. Other people's opinion will differ but I would take a v210 over a 205v as well. It is a great boat.
