I have narrowed my search down to the 2006 MC x30 and 2006 Malibu 23 lsv.
I have drove both and still can't make up my mind.
What are the positives and negatives with each?

i have an x-30 and i absolutely love it. i am in east tennessee. and i know quit a few people that had problems with the malibu's. one guy ran over a 2x4 and it yanked the wedge off the back of the boat.

I demo each boat and the Malibu won hands down for me. The X-30 had a constant left hand pull and I really had to work to keep it straight. My wife would never drive it with that kid of pull. The X-30 seat was right in my line of vision with the top of the windshield which bothered me as well. The X-30 turned poorly in compairson to the LSV. The X-30 does have better leg room when seated and the all fiberglass floor is nice with snap out carpet.

wow, hitting a 2X4 has an effect on underwater gear. who knew? i know quite a few people with problems on their malibus, mastercrafts, and nautiques. so what's your point?

I got an X-30 as well and have no complaints. Sure it doesnt turn all that great due to its size but we didnt get it to do turns all day. No pull and you can adjust the height of the seat to whatever you liking.

I personally prefer the wake of the LSV. It was great with stock plus 500 and the wedge. The interior of the malibu is straight luxury also. I ran my LSV for 750 hours and it never saw a mechanic once.
