my new VLX will have the windows tinted by the dealer. No pics sorry. I like the looks but thats about all tinting a boat does. Just dont go to dark or you will be rubbernecking over the windshield.

Our X30 is black with tinted windows. They are only about 20% so they are too dark. They can help when driving directly in the sun and arent too dark for night. So Like KG said, if you do it, dont go too dark. It does make the boat look good though.

I'm not sure the exact percentage of tint on mine but it's limo darkness. I don't look through the windshienld when I'm driving........with the seat bolster I am always looking over the windshield so the darkness doesn't bother me. The only time it's a pain is when it's high sun BEHIND the boat and the glare on the inside of the windshield is bad.

Hi everyone,

I just had a boat tinted at a local tint show. I was a little disappointed the way it turned out. I would recommend that if you are going to have it done, take the extra hour and remove the windshield from the boat. This is not as hard as it sounds. I didnt do it and where the window meets the boat you can see the slightest gap in the tint.....the shop charged me $300 and i too went %20.

454 are you kidding?? My tow rig has a 496 and I never drive it these days. I bought the Hybrid because it allows me to drive in the commute lanes all over the Bay Area.

I know this horse had been beaten, but for those WITH tint would you do it again? Major downsides I've heard are glare, night driving, and gettin messed with by the cops. Anything else.

Oh BTW all of these boats look rad! Wild Bill's boat looks like it was previously owned by Darth Vader himself

STEVE,
I was also thinking about tinting my windows. I noticed that yours is not as dark as the others, which is what I am thinking about doing. You said, yours is about 20%. If you could change the tint would you go darker or lighter or its just right? Do you have a glare with the sun? I wanted to tint my windows enogh to make it have the tinted look, but not so much that it causes a safety hazard or is a cop magnet.

I have had tinted windshields on both of my boat and I love it. Just don't go darker than 20% and you won't have any problems.Upload
