You can always ditch the bindings start wakeskating. Get yourself a early 2000's vdrive or even better a 90's direct drive. Then take the $ you saved and put it down on a cabin in Tahoe or something along those lines.

Today is the day. Matt Steele is nice enough to take us out behind his 2015 today. Rode behind a new tomcat the other day and the wake was big but the boat didn't quite have finishes that we are looking for. Very interested to be in the boat and get feel for it. Plus really see what this wake is like. Hoping stock it will seal the deal for my needs.

Not my boat or me riding but I took the picture. This was full stock ballast and like 3000 over stock. The rider was 6' tall riding at 75 and 23.5 I think. Don't quote me on that. The boat has the 550 and it's a dream to drive. Hands down my favorite boat ever by a mile.

Holy cow! A lot of surf wakes are smaller than that!

The owner of the boat is on here some he could tell you more about it.

This is why I just shake my head when somebody says they aren't that impressed with a sac'ed out G wake.

You just can't please some people.

So we finally got out behind the a G23. Wake and boat was everything I was hoping it would be. Boat had stock ballest, 500 pounds of lead and three people in the boat. Wake will be more than enough for my level of riding. First set I was a little cautious and over rotated a roll to revert and was just a little out of control. Second set started to get used to the wake and was blasting heel side 5's like 20 feet in to the flats.

My wife loved the wake as well. She overrated a back roll to her face that was pretty awesome.

Loved the space and finishes in the boat. We rode behind a tomcat earlier in the week and there really was no comparison in wake or finishes.

This will be my next boat. The next question is new of a year or two old. I guess I will square that away in the next month or so.

Thank you to everyone who posted input on this thread and very special thank you to Matt and Justina who were kind enough to take us out and are probably the most positive, friendly people we have met wakeboarding!

Finally a happy ending. We bought a new 16 G23 this last weekend, it arrives Saturday and my wife, myself and my friends on tulloch could not be happier.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread, it was very educational.

Special thanks to Matt Steele for talking us out in his 15. If you ever make it to Tulloch you gotta take a set.

Also huge thanks to Steve Pinheiro from Galey's marine that has been more than a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend to anyone.

Went out today. Only wake surf only but could not be happier. Just gorgeous boat. My family loves it so much. My boys are so free to run up and down it is great.

I have had some minor issues and Steve from Galeys has provided the service that you would expect with this kind of purchase.

Would highly recommend!
