Has anyone done this? I have a 2016 SA and want to tow with tower down.

I'm tired of cleaning bugs and don't really want to wrap tower either.

I have done it both ways. Never done it long distance, but surely it would be fine. It sits very stable and does not touch anything. Maybe strap it down to something if you are going long distance in case you hit a bump that forces it to move a bit.

Surpras have Roswell towers right? Those towers come from the factory with a funky piece of plastic, kind of in the shape of a triangle if I remember. That piece screws onto the area between the tower and the base when the tower is folded and is meant to hold the tower down during shipping so it won't bounce around. I'd bet most dealers have them laying around.

I just towed last month 10 hours with the tower up with no problems doing 80-85 mph on HWY 5 from Portland to Sacramento.

DTB - I have done it in the normal position. Not all the way down, with the puck removed. I usually always just tow tower up, but have done it just fine

I did it in the lowest position and it worked great. No bugs except on racks. So I will be acquiring rack covers and towing this way from now on.
