I've talked to Ryan at GSA asking for pictures or video of someone set up with GSA, he said they've sold plenty to dealers but never had done one in his shop. He also stated if I'm not happy with it he will pay to have it removed and returned.

Despite his assurance, does anyone have experience with GSA on a new star? What was the ballast setup? Pictures? Videos?

I have a 2014 xstar with the gen2, just out of curiosity why not go that route? It would be all seamless integrated and under warranty by your local dealer. I have ridden pretty much every boat out there and they way I've set my boat up I've not found anything that's better, a couple come close, but definitely not better. I like taking other guys out for the first time and see their look of utter awe at the size and push it has. If this is significantly cheaper I suppose that might be a reason.

Simply cost. I'm not opposed to gen 2 for any reason other than that. Despite the guarantee claims, I would still like to see one in action before purchasing. If I don't find someone with a 4th gen star with GSA then I will end up with gen 2 at some point

Well I'm in the metro Detroit area, if you are nearby you are welcome to come out once the ice thaws in the spring to ride on the gen2 : )

I'm in SE Michigan. Where do you ride in Detroit?

Mostly on Cass Lake, where do you ride? Cass is super shallow in spots so you have to know where to ride, but there is a great 1 mile long track that we've found to be perfect. The lake is totally dead during the week, it's spectacular.
