We recently bought a 2003 23' XTI with a manual wedge. I have wakeboarded behind a boat with a auto wedge but never the manual wedge. When you set the wedge should you lock it in the position all the way down? There are two pins to pull together and the wedge drops then another two pins to pull together to lock the wedge all the way down. Thanks for the help.

Yes the manual wedge needs to be locked in at the low position. It wasnt until 2007 I believe that they came out with the floating wedge which moves freely to find the sweetspot.

Just lock it in place when you are ready to ride. Check in periodically before lanching to make sure the pins are moving freely. You may have to apply a thin coat of grease occassionally to keep the parts moving.
