We aren't asking about passing a law that requires you to ask someone purchasing a gun "Do you have mental health issues?" that would be stupid.

We want mental health professionals, police, teachers, and family to be able to go to the cops and say "This dude shouldn't have a gun" then the cops can take away their gun, and the guy can prove he's not nuts before getting it back.
Seems reasonable.

well then lay out exactly what you ARE talking about, because nothing you've said so far makes any sense

Hmm, I don't like you so I'm going to report you as nuts to the cops. You will then have to wait, and likely pay for the evaluations to clear your name. Going through a divorce? Say bye to your guns. Heck, if I want to rob you or rape your wife I will report you a week before. Except for the tough guy with a baseball bat, I'm pretty sure he is invincible toting that slugger.

I think crazy people shouldn't drive a car either, way too dangerous. Let's take those away on someone's word also.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Make it a crime to report someone without cause. They have to buy you a brand new set of guns! Now everyone is happy.

Im in, although guns really don't come in "sets".

And I still disagree.

But I do want a new set of guns.

He’s on to something, I also want a new “set” of guns.
Maybe something with matching blueing, some custom etching, exotic woods .....a compact frame carry piece, a 1911, a tricked out semi or pump 12ga, maybe something on an AR platform, and a bolt action long ranger. Would be a cool set to have.

So it's like a see something, say something sort of deal? How do you know who has guns and who doesn't??

Sounds like a bunch of he-said, she-said BS to me. With already limited resources for police and teachers, they're now supposed to be vigilantes and "report" people who may or may not have a gun.

brilliant. said no one.

Teachers and cops are already supposed to be watching out for people that are a danger to themselves or others. Lets just give them some teeth. As far as knowing who has a gun, I've never met a discreet gun nut. The bumperstickers and t-shirts are usually a give away.

What does the back of your Truck look like?

No stickers, no hats, no shirts, no sweatshirts with any gun stuff. Not even a Rebel Flag. You can bet that I'm carrying concealed right now though and have a closet full at home.

Once again, showing how ignorant you really are with the whole gun thing.
