How far you gonna pull it. It will pull it but you will know its back there.

I wouldn't be scared to tow with that. I pull a 247 lsv with a new aluminum 5.0 f150

"How far you gonna pull it. It will pull it but you will know its back there." - what is that even supposed to mean?

A Raptor will have more than enough power to pull it. Given the suspension on those it may sag a bit more than the average half ton possibly (purely guessing) but other than that it wouldn't have an issue.

Yup sweet rig. Not a diesel for towing but sick!

I towed one behind a Ram 1500 (5.7liter, I think) for 2 years. Unless you are in the mountains, I'd see it as no problem.

It will tow fine. Not sure why everyone thinks they need a diesel to tow. Truck has more than enough power. Think 10 years ago trucks towed with a lot less hp 270-315 hp towed fine. Now 420hp+ people question it.

I meant to put a question mark after the first sentence. And it means just what it says, yes, it'll pull it, but he will feel it back there. As to where a diesel would pull with ease.

It will tow it, but the Raptor was not designed to tow heavy loads. It's not an issue of power at all, but rather suspension setup.

Check the specs on the truck. It can do it, but it's tow/payload ratings are well below a regular F150.

I know the guy who drove the Indmar Raptor Truck towing many different boats, LSV, 247, Supra SA, SE, etc. In some cases, all over the country. Never a problem with suspension and certainly never an issue with power.

Ditto, don't ya just luv the tow snobs, a 1/2 pickup will do fine most of the time, can't see owning a F250 diesel or gas to tow a boat on weekends as its main purpose for being!

Guy on Malibu site sais "I don't consider anything under a ton as a truck", jeeeez!

Trevor said it best. The Raptor has plenty of power to pull that boat, no question. The Fox suspension is going to be a very soft rear end. You may have some sway/loose rear end feeling. But I think you will be just fine towing with the Raptor. Especially anything under a few hours

Suspension will be the only thing that will be not great for towing. But everything else will work great. Big brakes, wide stance, 411 HP.

People forget that Raptor's come with 4.10 gearing, that will help a ton in towing as long as you don't try to stuff 37" tires under it.

I'm really considering selling my sierra denali for raptor to DD and tow the 24ssv on the weekends. Since the new EcoBoost Raptor came out prices are kinda of droping alittle on the GEN 1 raptor.

plenty of power, just stopping and suspension concerns. watch weight distribution in the boat. maybe get a distribution hitch, rear air bags, an overload leaf spring something else to help with the squat. If not, steering goes to chit cuz the front tires aren't using full contact patch, etc. can get hairy pretty quick. even more fun at speed. It will get the job done, but do it carefully. all that horsepower is great for climbing hills but gets you out of control more quickly. make sure the trailer brake system is working 100%

Thanks for all the feedback. Think I will stick with my 250....

Adam, you're still wrong. My 14 ecoboost can pull my boat with ease as well. Sure stopping may be better with a diesel but it's still cheaper to install electric over hydraulic breaks on my trailer than to buy a diesel I don't need the rest of the time and at the same time have better stopping power than your diesel alone.

I have a 15 5.0 f150. It pulls my boat fine. But not near what my buddies f250 will. There's no comparison. I pulled a 25 outlaw Baja 8 hours one way. Did it pull it? Yes. Did it struggle and get 9-10 miles to the gallon? Yes

after a few white knuckle tows you learn that it really won't do the job adequately. A golf cart will pull the boat. is it the best tool for the job? obviously not.

Better get the F650 then.

My ecoboost would pull that pig easily

I've been there with the white knuckle tows, but that was 2 hours on a windy day towing a loaded down SE450 with my old F150 5.0. I don't see a 23LSV white knuckling a raptor under many conditions

I have that exact truck, a 12' super crew Raptor and it tows just fine.
The suspension does sag but get a adjustable hitch and you will be fine or make sure the trailer is level. I pull a 05 MB 23' that is around 5,000 pounds.

that engine should have no problem. I would bet that a raptor would have no problem. If it were me, I would just go with an F150 Ecoboost! Oh wait, I did do that! Pulls flawlessly in the mountains of Colorado.

I just sold my Raptor and towed a lot 200 plus mile trips and 13000 miles last year alone dirt bike racing. I had the 6.2 and power is no worry. Its the same engine used in the 250's. If the rear suspension is not up the the task of your load, put in some air bags or weight distribution and you are set.

I tow my SV244 all over the place with my 2016 1/2 ton Chevy with 5.3L. It has max tow package and rated for 9,100lbs....plus my boatmate trailer has duel electric brakes. No issues with power, zero issues with stopping (hell, the trailer brakes will stop the truck). I don't drive truck hard and only time you can feel even a hint of struggle is up steep inclines, even then if I step down on the gas, it will downshift and accelerate up hill with no issue, I just baby my stuff when possible. At least 5000 miles this year alone of pulling the boat. Boat with fuel and gear is close to 7000lbs plus 1500lb tandem axle trailer...so guessing somewhere between 8000-8500lbs fully loaded. (yes, I have receiver and ball that are rated for that load)
Could a deseil do it better...sure and I have had a couple of them too. Have I even felt unsafe towing boat with this 1/2 ton, no. Plus, I love getting 21-23 mpg in my truck when not pulling boat. No reason to spend 20k more on truck, get less fuel mileage and spend more on desiel when the newer 1/2 ton trucks will do fine and besides pulling boat I no longer have a need for a big truck. 10yrs ago...maybe an issue but not any more with the direct injection engines and the bulletproof 6 speed transmissions Chevy/GMC uses.
