Sup WW

Just rode for the first time in awhile and ran into an issue I've never seen before. Trying a wrapped FS5, the bar twisted underneath the line forcing it into my wrist coming around on the second 180.

Two clearest attempts caught on film start at 1:30.
Various makes and crashes were included before that as a token of appreciation for your time.

I can do FS wrapped tricks behind the boat no problem so I believe it iss the angle of the line on the cable that forces the adjustment. Never had this issue before, or even seen it happen to anyone else so I was wondering if anyone here had some thoughts.
Do you think holding the handle at the top end of the bar would prevent it from getting caught?
Many thanks

I'm wondering if this is partly to do with line tension. Have you tried giving the small handle a tug as you initiate the spin?

I was having the same problem on frontside 5's at the beginning of the season and I hadn't had it happen before. Granted I was doing them behind the boat but what I found I was doing was pulling down on the handle mid spin and taking more tension off one side than the other causing it to slack on one side and twist around the handle and you spin the last 180. Basically just focus on keeping the handle straight up and down as you spin, if that makes any sense lol

Just playing around with the handle and I see what you mean.

Have you thought of holding the handle with knuckles out instead of knuckles in ?
I feel like that would prevent the issue entirely...but could be awkward af hitting the wake/kicker

That actually might work, seems more natural for the rotation but probably take some getting used to, I'll give it a whirl when I ride later

Tried it, worked pretty well. Kind of awkward cutting in with a chicken wing for a back arm but it resolved the twisting issue completely
