That's right; the annual end of summer gathering for northwest riders is quickly approaching. For those who aren't in the know, a group of us northwest riders have been getting together for a little event called Northwest Wakefest for the last ten years or so. The gathering takes place in Pateros Washington along the Columbia River every year Labor Day Weekend.
A little info about the event.
This is an opportunity to get together with other northwest riders to share boats, boards and water. We aren't a competition nor are we professionals in any way. We simply gather to have fun with friends and family that enjoy boarding as much as we do.
We stay in Pateros Washington at a little motel located directly along the Columbia River about 15 miles north of Chelan. The town is setup perfect. Everything you need is within walking distance. Restaurants, gas, liquor store, bakery, tavern and sporting goods store. The motel provides boarders with ultra easy access to the water and a great view of the riders when watching from the shore.
Our group is largely made up of families and we encourage those who have children to attend. We pride ourselves on providing a chill atmosphere were parents can relax and let their kids run around without worrying about anyone getting too out of hand.
We usually drag a slider and a kicker over to insure the folks on shore have some laughable moments watching those fool enough to hit them.
Every year we raffle off a ton of gear and swag donated by multiple boarding companies to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. For those who would like to attend, please contact me for a room at
Cliff.Griffin@Pepsico.com for reservations.
OH... almost forgot... This is why we chose this location every year.
