I am pretty pumped on this boat. Had hard time deciding on the SC and SA this go around, but decided to step it up. So many cool new features. Steering wheel controls and rear surf board locker were cool new touches. Stepping out of my normal comfort zone and adding some yellow.... I know many won't like the yellow, but I have wanted to add it for years...
Thinking about doing Boatmate Trips on the trailer too..... We will see if I can ball up...
Gonna be a long few months before this bad boy shows up....
Not great pics, but you get the idea...
Full reveal in a few months

Great looking boat Tyler! The SA is going to kill it this year, truly the best at both surf and wake that I have seen. Can't wait to see this one when you get it!

the 400.... Everyone I have spoken with says it should be plenty of power especially with the new launching system that lowers the surf plates on take off to help plane faster...

I guess it depends on what size bags you plumb in. Just an FYI, I rode and drove the new SA450 most of the summer and with 1000 PNP bags it took plenty of time to plane. It is a big boat.

I have a buddy that has one and it is sweet!!! Just a bit to big for me for storing it in my garage and towing it....

I am liking the yellow accent with the dark hull. Just enough extra. Probably won't show in the water much but will look sweet on the trailer none the less. Winters here so always nice to get the boat porn started. Maybe some yellow wheel tape on the black rims or yellow plasti dip in the bolts to finish it off

I would add yellow base and accent to the tower. That would balance out the yellow down low. I checked out the SA and it is sweet.

Tyler your going to love it. The boat is everything they said it was and more. I will say the 400 is borderline enough power. I've got 50hrs on mine and has been awesome. It works but 450 would be nice. I will be staying with this boat for a while. Love your color choice too.

My boat landed. I am pretty stoked on it. It is huge and sweet. Will post more pics soon once I get it done...
-It is in the shop now to have Gator Step http://www.gatorstep.com/ installed. I am going with the Whiskey barrel color. Going to be interesting to see how it goes with the interior, but I think it is going to work nice.
-Next it gets a full Exile http://exileaudio.com/store/ stereo install

Should have it done in a few weeks. Check out the new steering wheel controls. Pretty excited to see them in action.

Nice boat ... I don't think brown flooring is going to match the gray/black, though.

That thing has some serious depth/freeboard in the rear!

Looks amazing! Can't wait to see some more pics! What made you want to go with Gator Step instead of ordering Seadek from the factory? The Color?

We will see. I have had the same feeling. We did some mocking up and I saw some others online that had gray interior and it looked great. I really want brown. If it does not look good, I will do it again in gray or put my carpet back on cause it will just lay over it. It was a risk for sure, but I am thinking it will payoff. We shall see...

The freeboard is nuts. I can't even come close to seeing into the boat from the ground while on the trailer. Looks massive standing next to it.

Good to know. I'm in the process of finalizing an order for a new SE, and I was thinking about doing the same thing because I kind of want brown as well, but it is only offered in grey from the factory.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       03-01-2016, 11:45 AM Reply
jgilson - stay tuned next week or later this week for pics and I will share with you. I chose the whiskey barrel. I know they have the SE templated already cause my buddy ordered it last year so could be easy to get it ordered if so. Check out the colors on their site. They also allow you to have the backing color in any color they offer so there are literally a ton of ways to mix it up.

Looking good Diggs ! The whiskey is gonna look great , GatorStep is doing my SE again this year. Super cool guys and easy to work with. This will be my third boat they have done for me SA, SE and another SE this year. I really like using them because you can design your own flooring and really make it your own. My SE has very similar interior colors as Diggs and I think I'm also gonna go Whiskey or a shade of brown this year. But glad he's going first ...... Maybe I'll end up going back to grey

Hey Diggs,

Did you have the factory tint your windows? I am picking up my SA this Saturday and I am thinking of getting my windows tinted. Also how much does it typically run?
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       03-01-2016, 12:11 PM Reply
Gary -
My dealer Active Water Sports offers tinting as a service for customers. I tried to have a few other tinters try and do mine and did not have luck. Those other guys were cheaper, but they had to pull the windshield to do it and was a pain. The guy that AWS uses does not need to pull the window and does a good job. I want to say they charge somewhere around $400.
Old     (Garrison)      Join Date: May 2010       03-01-2016, 12:15 PM Reply
Do they get the whole windshield I spoke with my dealer and the guy they use said that he can do it but there is a 1/8th in gap in the tint.

Awesome looking boat! I think you'll be impressed with how well the 400 motor does with Autolaunch as well. I was in an SA400 the other day and it planed with ease with full stock ballast, 5 adults and 3 kids in the boat. Plus I'm sure you already know that there is not a whole lot of need to add any ballast over stock, especially for wakeboarding.

Ttime- That is awesome to hear. I have heard the same and banking on that...
Gary - No gaps - Those gaps will look horrible. Like I said I had 2 guys try and tint my last Supra with no luck. This guy has done the last 2 with no issues. You just have to shop around and find the right guy

I'm not having the same luck with my boat! If I load my boat 100% you can have 3 adults max!!!

Interesting. It should also be noted that we were running and always run premium fuel in the 400. There's a very noticeable difference in power between 89 and 93 in that motor.

Ok,

I will start using 93 and see if it changes. Thank you

DTB - Are you burping your front PNP bags? I have talked to several people that tow their boat regularly that think their front bags are full cause they look full, but they take air in from being towed. The bags look and feel full until you burp them and find you are running full of air. It will make a huge difference cause you are running all your weight in the back and makes it harder to get on plane. Just something to check if you do not already do that.
I will report back once I have gotten mine out.

No problem man, let us know if that helps! I only know because we had similar planing issues with our 15' SC400 and the 93 pretty much resolved the problem for us.

Hello, I'm thinking of getting a 2015 Supra SE or SG really care about the surf wave. Two questions can you put the new 16 tabs on a 15? With extra weight how good is that wave?
Thanks in advance!
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       03-01-2016, 6:30 PM Reply
I have not been behind the SG, but heard it is great. It is awesome behind the SE for sure even with the old tabs. That is what they used in the PWT. I am sure you could upgrade to the new tabs, but I am not sure you will see a noticeable difference. Concept is the same pretty much. Good question though.

Really no need to run extra weight if you get the FLEX plug and play ballast. Brings stock ballast over 3K. I have brought out an extra bag if we did not have many people in the boat just to simulate the days we do, but you can manipulate the ballast in other ways too.

I recently went out on a dial/demo sesh on a new SA400. I knew these new Supras surf well with the stock ballast and swell set-up but I had to see if we could elevate the wave to Mackin status, and list it. With only 500 lbs over stock on the port side, 100% full in the bow, and about 25% starboard side, the wave is AMAZING. Long, tall, lippy. Power for days all the way back. We're doing a write up of the day with pics coming soon.

That's pretty much the same colors I ended up with on my G23! The Supra SA was my 2nd choice in a boat and this was the same color scheme I built on the site! Ordered my G from Race City down there at Norman

Brought it home today. Starting the Exile stereo install over the next few weeks. Got the flooring installed tonight. I used www.gatorstep.com and did the teak color. I was a little nervous about the color matching with the gray and black, but think it turned out awesome. I am loving this stuff. So easy to install and really changes the look. You can actually pull it up and re-apply it if it is not in the right spot.
I am totally blown away by the way Supra has stepped it up on this boat. Holy cow it is massive, now that I have it in my garage. Can't wait to get it on its maiden voyage....

FYI- If any one is looking for Gator Step they now have the template for the SA if you are interested. You can just order it and ship it to you. They also have the SE and probably some others, but I know those for sure. Many more color options and pattern options than you can get from the Supra.

We got it on the water.... Really stoked on this boat so far. THere is much more technology in the LCD screen now. The backup camera really does work and you can turn it on and leave it on or you it automatically comes on in reverse. You can do most things from the steering wheel controls too which is really cool. The new Launch control works well and the boat really handles well for a big boat. We just did a short test to make sure all systems are go and so far so good. Water temp was 50....

Looks good!

Can gator step do those gunnel covers for older SA's? We just picked up Eric's black and grey SA 350 from Medford he mentioned you guys knew each other. Thinking about adding the non skid on the top of the sides like the 16s have (SAs) just to reduce chance of scratching from kids crawling around on there since ours is black.
