That's right, it's the tenth annual Northwest Wake Fest provided to you by the lowly NWHC group!

Dates : Sept. 2nd - 4th

Location : As always, the "gathering" will be be held at Pateros Washington on the Columbia River. This is a boarder's dream of a location. Pull into town, launch your boat and you're done driving for the weekend. Everything one might need is within a two block radius gas, liquor store, sports bar, restaurant, sports store, hardware store. There's no need to drive anywhere the entire time you're there. As for riding conditions... anyone who's ever attended this event walks away with huge smile on their face. I'll leave it at that!

Lodging : The Pateros Motor Inn is full as of today. Yup, we have the entire facility booked all to ourselves this year!

There are alternate lodging options for those who want to attend.

Pateros Lakeshore in. Very nice and just down the street from the action.

http://pateroslakeshoreinn.com/

Alta Lake Golf Course. About a mile away.

http://www.altalakegolf.com/index.php?page_id=32

Alta Lake Camp Grounds. About a mile away, inexpensive camping and a nice little park.

http://www.stateparks.com/alta_lake.html

The agenda : We don't have one, that's for events and tournaments. This is an opportunity to meet, socialize and hang out with fellow northwest boarders and their families. This isn't a "tear the house down party event" We provide a chill atmosphere where kids and adults can hang, ride their butts off and have fun.

There will be a potluck bbq Saturday night along with a Susan G Komen raffle. The raffle is a great way to donate to a good cause and an excellent chance for those who enter to win some sweet prizes donated by multiple northwest vendors!

Anyone who's interested or has any questions can contact me.

For those who have attended in the past, post up your pics!

Joe,

This will be waiting for your arrival. Butter, a loaded 210 and warm weather. Top it off with Fisher giving you crap all weekend and it's a hard bargain to pass on.

Hanging in there...how about you? How's the leg doing after surgery? You able to rip it up this year? Riding has been limited, miss riding with you guys out there. Only put about 30 hours on the boat this season. At that rate I may have to sell it

Not much going on in this post but I can gaurantee it's gonna be big this year! Motel is booked, and the boats attending are already in the double digits.. Hahn has helped out with the vendor donations big time. It's starting to look like a boarder's dream in my spare room! Bring money for the Susan G Komen Raffle, it's gonna be bigger than last year.

I can't wait guys!!!! As always, We'll probably miss the true fun of the weekend, but we're actually gonna go out to Pateros on Sunday and spend the whole week there leading up to the NWWF to try and get in as much riding as we can!

Cliff, yer askin for trouble!! Troy has been tearing it up on the skate lately!

The kicker is pretty much done and ready to roll. It's kind of like the PWT kicker except BIGGER, hahahaha! I can't wait to see a skate go off it.

A bigger version of the pwt kicker does not sound skate friendly. Might have to give it a go though so we can watch Cliff hit it.

Jason... I know I'm no Cliff, but for the record, I'm lookin' to copy your Pop Shuvit on the skate (this year) and your half cab roll (eventually).
That said, I'll also follow Troy over the kicker on the skate. What could possibly go wrong?

I have hit a kicker a few times on a skate, it is cool as long as the skate stays with you, but when it flys away, and it seems like you have forever to think about how bad this is going to hurt, it really sucks!

Dude, that looks sweet! What are you going to cover it with?

Now we just need a jet ski to pull people to hit it, so much faster then the boat!

Oh yeah, you guys will need some serious anchors..that currrent will move that all over the place without good anchors!

The top is 1/4 ABS plastic sheeting that we got from a local guy. We've got 4 eye bolts welded to each corner to anchor it down. Tonight will be its maiden voyage in the water so hope everything goes to plan. A jet ski would be great for this thing.

Are there any camping or rv spots left? I know a couple of washed up wakeboarders and their kids who could use a place to stay. I haven't ridden in 9 months and I think it's time. I might just make the drive from crescent bar if I have too.

Give me a call. If you want to get in a set, we'll be heading out on Tuesday and Wednesday morning this week. 206-856-1562.

Mike,

That's awesome!

My wife and I were talking about you the other day and Jules decided you are the northwest version of Kevin Bacon. Everyone I know that boards on Sammamish met someone through you. I met Hahn who knew you. You knew Scotty who knew Jeff, who knew Brad. Laci knew you and Texas Dave and introduced me to Dave B and Troy. Troy introduced me to Sara, Jeff, Rich and Parker. You knew Fowler who introduced me Robert. Joe knew fowler Hahn and Porter and that's how I met him. We all met Fisher through Joe. It goes on and on... I'll bet everyone we know can tie themselves and there crew back to You and Bonnie in less than six degrees of separation.

That said It wouldn't be right if you and Bonnie weren't at the tenth anniversary.

Have fun guys. One of these days I am going to make it to this event. Unfortunetly I have to go to hood canal and dig clams, pick oysters and catch crab all weekend long. I might even have to eat some of this nonsense. If I had a boat with more than a 9.9hp outboard I might even try and board because the water at the very end of the canal is warm and pure butter just like Pateros.

I'm quessing he's going with the sytem of "add weight til the boat won't plane, back off just a tad, then rip the $@it out of it. I'm bettng someone doesn't walk off that boat by the end of the trip.

All he needs is a 750 in the walk way full, stock all around, and the wedge, then add people to suit your taste!!!
Old     (digg311)      Join Date: Sep 2007       08-26-2010, 2:06 PM Reply
I've only been in Daren's new beast once... he put the 750 in the walk way, but it was probably only filled to about 550 or so... filled the stock all around... Just me, him and Dave in the boat... with a few tweaks of the power wedge and speed, the wake was SWEET!!

BIG, but with a super mellow transition. As usual, I didn't do much with it... but was able to bomb w2w on an 80' line... something I had never even tried before. Can't wait to see it loaded down.

I must be getting excited for the trip... I put together another vid last night. For this one, I stuck to the footage that Jamie Crawford shot last year, so it's kind of a "Northwest Refresh" bonus feature... It's pretty much just Rick and Jason throwing down.
Enjoy.
