Anybody know where I can get my head unit refurbished. I'm trying to keep my stock remote on the back of the boat so I need a kenwood KTS-MP400MR which they don't make any more. I've tried ebay but keep getting out bid. So I was wondering If any new of somewhere I could send my head unit off to get repaired.

What's wrong with it? I know a couple of fixes that a buddy does to them.

I also have a 300 if you want to buy it. Let me know.

United Radio in New Jersey does flat rate repairs. I've used them several times over the last 15 years or so.

Thanks for the offer with the 300 but it won't work with the remote on the back of the boat.

I send United an email and see what they say.

might be better off just replacing the remote and HU.

Adam, the problem with that is that the remote at the helm is molded into plastic, nothing else will fit or cover the hole. Supra really did their customers a lot of favors by doing that.....

always hate when this sort of stuff happens.... its like, seriously, do you not PLAN for your boats to be around when its time for a new head unit!?

Jonyb

Are the remotes on your old boats mounted flush inside this trim ring. With the hole cut big enough for the trim ring? If they are that's great because mine is not mounted that way, they literally took the remote and silicone it to the transom. I'll take a pic of it this afternoon.

Not on the transom, mine was just surface mounted.

So yours is surface mounted too? What's the problem with that?
And does your boat have one molded into the helm plastics?

Sounds like it may be easy to replace the remote.

That's the remote I have working with mine. Pretty sure the radio I have would work.
