I have a Rockford T1500 in the boat and also a ported box for two 12" subs, not sure of the cubic inches of the box, I'm not with it at the moment. Anyways, I'm looking for new subs and was looking at two Alpine type R's, but also wouldn't mind sticking with Rockford subs either. What would you guys recommend for subs, and how should I wire them with running the T1500 amp? Thanks for the info!

I would go with jl w6's they dont need alot of space, very efficient and sound awesome! Ive had type r's before and would go with jl's all day.

Not enough information to make a good call on which sub's would be best.

Certainly the JL Audio W6 is a favorite of mine. But it is unlikely that you could retro it into an existing ported enclosure with good results.
If the enclosure was custom built to suit, then try to find woofers with the same Thiele/Small parameters as the models you had before.
If the box is off-the-shelf then I would recommend doing it right with a custom box for the new woofers.

At the very minimum you'll need to know the box size interior volume to know if a sub will work properly in the enclosure. What are the specs on that amp? Is it 1500 watts at 1 ohm?
