75k for a boat.... GO

So I am looking to upgrade from my current Moomba LSV and make a substantial investment into a new water toy. I'm curious to hear pros/cons and opinions about what the best wake boat out for around 60-75k. I have done some looking but don't have too much hands on experience with some of the options. I'm thinking a 230 team. Any info and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Would like to keep it under 300 hrs and def w a trailer included.

Upgrade to a Craz? As a wakeboarder, I'd rather have the clean, consistent wakes of the Craz then a finicky 230 wake. Can't speak much on the surf of the 230, but the Craz is top notch and has a surf system. Plus, you could have a brand new one with a warranty in that price range. Just a thought.

A22 or A24, hands down.

For me it would depend if that $75K was ALL I had to spend on a boat. If it was then I would get a new A22 or A24 but for $75K you could probably get a steal on an early G23. If you went with the G then I would make sure I could shell out some $$$ if repairs were ever needed.

Just curious, what makes everyone so sure that the Axis would perform better?

Are G23 prone to needing a lot more maintenance or something? I would like to stay around 65-75, not sure how much I can stretch out of that budget. I was thinking an A24 but wasn't sure how the wake and it's standard equipment stacked up against a few years older higher end boats.

You can probably get a new Mojo in the 75 range if you want more space than a craz.

I've ridden behind, and helped dial in, many boats. The Axis is the easiest boat to setup for a big wake. The A24 is capable of an almost-G23 sized wake and the A22 is no slouch either. Heck, I've got an A20, and it shocks people how big the wake can get.

onlyinboards has ONE G23 in the $70k's, and it's 79,900. Also appears to be a salt water boat. All other G's are in the $90k+ range.

^^ That G looks to have been in some salt... i wouldn't bother, but that's me.

Nauti- I've seen those. And I hear good things as well as good reviews on 210 and 230s. And due to the distance of all of these models j was looking for some other insight to narrow down the selection.

It'd be easier to give input if you told us how you would use it. I just bought a 230 and love it for a lot of reasons.

My 2016 Craz will be available very soon and well in your price range even pretty much fully loaded. Craz is worth a demo to put on your list.

Was told I can start to really push in June for sale and would hope to get into another Craz or what ever the dealer recommended for his business. This by far will be one of the hardest boats to let go, it's truly a damn good boat with a legit wake.

Surfing and wakeboarding mostly. Want up to date and dependable electronics and a nice system. A nice system but doesn't have to be the best as I can upgrade later. I'm a heavier guy at 200lbs so nice ballast or a natural big wake would be nice. I'm Inbetween a 2013 230 or newer axis.

Go demo both but my money would be on the '13 230 with NSS

Right at the top of your budget.

Tough question though. You have a 15k dollar spread on your budget. If you were more wanting to be at the top I would go nautique all day. Axis throw great wakes but its a budget boat vs. top brand. If you wanted to stay closer to the 60k mark, a surf gate a22 would be the better choice.

Somebody else mentioned supra's in this thread. Have you checked them out? Never surfed one but preferred the wake of the SC over the 23LSV. Another boat I really, and I mean really enjoyed was a 2015 Malibu VLX. They can be had for 75k if you keep your eyes peeled.

Yep, I feel the same way, LOL. I've had it long enough to do the proper break in and 1 ballast set. This weekend we're heading to Powell with a few boat and it's photo time for the new Craz.
CBroadus21 - There's so many boats out there that are damn nice and will do what you ask. I'm for one to repeat the demo and really find out what your likes/dislikes are. You make it to UT and I'll be happy to show and demo the Craz with your family. You have a respectable budget and many options for what the market has to allow.

gotta track em down and catch a flight.. i think i have narrowed it down to a 13+ prefer a 14 230. or a 14+ A24. Can anyone tell me pros/cons? i know most of the basics, and the 230 is "nicer" but as far as bells and whistles and material quality...etc i have only seen the A24

I know you never want to regret to small of a boat or to small of an engine, but do you need a full 23/24 foot boat? Is your crew normally that large? The 210 and the A22 are plenty of wake and wave for 99% of riders. Just curious.

I don't like packing the boat so usually in my 21 I put 9-11 letting the girls lay out... With a cooler. I like the weight of the bigger boats and the space to relax when just floating around. Do I need it, no. It's a want thing. I know the surf wake is a bit better in the bigger heavier boats so I was more inclined. I'm not against the 21/22. Any feedback on that?

I just thought it was a question worth asking. If the crew/gear demands the bigger boat then by all means go for it. Like I said, you'd never want to regret choosing a boat/engine that is to small. Good luck.

In another thread "SurfGate Vs" we were talking about how the Nautique's with NSS have a the ability to adjust the wave on the fly using NSS and NCRS with the push of a button. As far as I know, Axis has a Surf Gate and a manual wedge. The wedge is adjustable, but not on the fly. I haven't been in a newer Axis, so I can't comment on the material quality.

Parts are a bit more but I was more referring to buying a new Axis with a 5 year warranty vs. a used G with maybe a year left if it will transfer.

AXIS A22/T22 or left over A24 should be in that range

I would look at the Moomba and Axis if you want new. If you want a nicer boat I would look for a 14 23 LSV Malibu or a 15 VLX. If you Demo all 3 you will probably buy the Malibu. Good luck!

I'm very happy with my T22 and I'm not even sure you could option one up to $75k honestly....mine was quite a bit less.

I personally chose to go new for the money I was spending vs buying a couple year old boat for the same money, just peace of mind for me.

You can definitely build an axis to be over $75k. I think my 12' a22 had an msrp of $85k, I bought it as a demo, no where near that price.

It sounds like an A24 would be your best option. I would find a slightly used boat with the 450 engine. It's a big boat, capable of tons of ballast and a 350 just won't cut it. Depending on what options you like, you might be able to pick one up brand new for $75k.

I think MSRP on our T22 was close to about 88k. Yes you can get an axis into the 70s or even 80s once you start spec'ing the big motor and other goodies.

New or almost new Axis A22, hands down.
