I'd like some advice on the best way to add to a limited ballast system. We have a 2004 Mobius LSV with the single bag ballast system which came with the boat. We manually fill 540lb sacks in the compartments alongside the engine compartment and fill another smaller sack we position in the front of the boat. The single auto sack is in the ski locker. This sack is fairly large, but has no burp valves so we have a lot of problems with air in that sack. We were looking at upgrading to the Mobius 3 bag system thru the dealer, upgrading to the gravity games sacks, but this is pretty expensive and it seemed the dealer wasn't really advising doing this (due to the cost - approx. $750). I'm not sure this is good enough since it doesn't add any automated nose weight and I don't believe the gravity games sacks have any burp valves. I have seen many postings on Wake World about people adding some pretty fantastic ballast systems themselves - systems using really high volume pumps and many of them that allow for really quick filling and emptying. Sounds great but I'm not the guy to even think about doing this myself. I also don't want a system done that I can't take for servicing somewhere. So, does anyone know of a dealer or major boat mechanic or boat systems installer in the Austin, TX area that could modify and extend the existing ballast system in this boat? I'd like it to look like it was fully integrated in the boat. I'd also like to pay less than $750 or if paying $750 then I'd like it to be a really fast, heavy duty system. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
