Forgive me if i missed a post on this already...

June 12-14
Who is already planning on going?
I am planning on going...as i am already here ;)
I have been excited for it ever since the last one ended!

Last year the CR (Castle Rock) Cut opened up just barely on time with enough room to pass through, saving 10 miles of traveling distance through a washing-machine of a canyon. this year i expect there will be no problem getting through the cut.
A private contractor WILL be dredging the cut starting NEXT WEEK to about 3,600 ft. above sea level which is about 15,000 sq. ft. of debris moved... (if i heard all the numbers right) if the lake goes down enough at the end of the year then the cut will be dredged another 100 ft or so.

This is good news for Powell goers alike weather for bro stock or not. Finaly this IS GOING TO HAPPEN and not just be talked about!!!

I been to Powell many times and that Castle Rock cut is a god send. I am headed there in July and can't wait to make the cut through.

It saves hours and tons of gas as opposed to going through the channel.

Last time we were there, our houseboat broke down in the channel at high noon on a Saturday and we were stuck in a washing machine for about 2 hours. Luckily we saved ourselves from the rock walls somehow but my dog puked all over the houseboat after she got sea sick.

Every time a tourboat goes through that channel the "washing-machine" nearly goes to "SPIN" setting

hehehe.
i am partially glad i have never been houseboating... only slightly...

wow! sounds like a LARGE amount of $$$ will be up for grabs again. AND a wakeskate rail jam! i was half thinking the brostock might suffer a bit due to the economy woes... maybe not. maybe it will double in size AGAIN! I am really getting excited for this!
