Curious from those of you who had it professionally done. How has it been holding up? Not looking for opinions, just actual experience. Worth the cost? Did it last as long as they said it would? And yes I searched just looking for more info. Thanks a lot

Hey I bought a bottle of the Meguiars HyBrid Ceramic Spray on wax, I’m sure in no way is it as good as a $300 professional application but for $14 I thought I would give it a try. I’m very happy with it. I put it on my brand new black truck and the finish is slicker. To that point. I drove the truck in the rain. After it dried out and was all dirty, I could hose of 80% of the road grime with just the garden hose, the dirt didn’t stick. I still washed the truck like a normal person, but I was happy with how the water just falls off the truck. It made washing and drying the truck faster i could totally see how this stuff would work great on the boat.

Interested to get the real story on this too. From what I hear on FB groups, the only way to get a 'good' ceramic coating is from a professional. But of course that's the professionals saying that lol.

We're picking our new boat up in a couple weeks and I'd like to do whatever I can to keep it looking good (it's mostly black). But it won't be stored in the water. And I don't want to light money on fire for no reason...already done enough of that through this purchase process lol

Ceramic coating is super easy. It applies like a wax. Tough part is the prep. Has to be free of blemishes or else the ceramic coat will trap those in

I’ve had mine on for one full season and it still looks great. Paid 1300 to have it done by a gtechniq accredited dealer. I got the crystal serum light with 2 layers of the exo coating. Like someone said previously the cost came from having to buff out imperfections in the gelcoat before applying the coating. I do notice that the hydrophobic ability of it is greater in areas that are not in constant contact with water. I spray the gtechniq quick detailer when I wipe the boat down after each outing and it looks freshly waxed. Waterspots will show on a ceramic coating if you don’t use something to prevent it. The quick detailer is for that purpose as well. Some people have said any like grime will just spray off with the coating. I have found that to be not true. You still have to wipe some stuff off. Even from day one. But with very little effort it’s back to a wax shine with just a microfiber cloth. For reference I have a mastercraft x25. Black and red.

These photos are shortly after it was done.

This is after 4 months of summer use about 4 days a week.

Anyone else get it done? Looking at Ceramic Pro.

Ceramic Pro installer in my area came and looked at my new SL450.
He is booked up until the first of May. He says it is two day job.

He did give that Meguiares Ceramic spray lots of props to keep it looking great. I think I am going to use it as a maintainer after he Ceramic Pro's my boat. That is if I can the overtime at work to pay for it. I have 3 weeks to come up with the money.

I have a 2015 G21 and would love to try out the Meguiars. There are vinyl graphics. I can't imagine it would affect the graphics however I have no true basis for that. has anyone used ceramic coating over the vinyl?
