Replace Mastercraft speakers in factory cans....

Question: Best speakers to replace factory clarion speakers in Mastercraft factory tower cans?

Info:
2003 Mastercraft X-30
Original Factory Tower enclosures with original factory Clarions (Yes they suck)

First, I know we should probably bite the bullet and get some HLCD speakers and do away with the factory Mastercraft cans and speakers altogether. Unfortunately, its just not really an option because the parents want to keep the boat as close to a factory look as possible.

I have been combing through the archives a little and haven't been able to find out any options (or at least up to date options) as far as replacing the speakers with a better sounding speaker but keeping the factory cans/enclosures. I have tried to attach a photo of the enclosures I have for everyone's reference. These are the old style with the extra pod for the tweeter.

So what would everyone do? Any speaker recommendations that will fit these enclosures? I really appreciate everyone's help. Wakeworld has always been a great site with great posters that have always provided great information. Maybe one day I can have a bada$$ system like numerous posters on here! Thanks again guys.

Are they 6.5"? What about 6.5" Krypt HLCDs?

I'm VERY happy with my Kicker HLCDs. You can bolt them right in and you can pick up refurbs on ebay or talk to a dealer about a "cash price."

Yes they are 6.5". I will call bullet lines and see if they will fit.

I have also seen some good press on the kickers as well, I just didnt know they would fit. What do you think I would be looking at as far as "Cash Price"? Range? I have done a little research but really only see the ones on ebay with the cans..

Thanks again for the help you guys. I will be looking into both of these options.

polk has a marine speaker that fits perfect i have the same cans and swapped them out.
