Ok lets vote for subject matter.
1. Emotions
2. Off camera flash (cool idea, although I think this might limit some folks)
3. Nature & Wildlife
4. land-scapes / city-scapes
5. Long exposure
6. B&W
Any other ideas throw them into the pot.

I vote long exposure, I'm really getting into that lately. Don't own an off-camera flash :/ can spotlight set ups count?! Or for the ultimate contest....the best B&W long exposure shot of emotional nature in the city illuminated by an off camera flash wins.

Ok, Let's do off camera flash.
Must have been shot in 2010.
2 entry's can be submitted per photographer.
Contest closed as of Jan. 1st, 2011.
Voters can vote for their 3 favorite shots. Point values will be 5 points for a 1st place vote, 3 points for a 2nd place vote & 1 point for a 3rd place vote.
Anything else I'm missing, put it out there.
Should be fun.

Joe as long as it was shot in 2010. It's kind of late in the year (weather wise) for a lot of folks, that's why I went with Riley's suggestion for the past year.
Like I said, I'm looking for input.

i think it would be best if people were made to shoot something from now until 12/31/2010, rather than post something shot months ago that some would skip over cause they've seen it already. but hey, that's just me.

I think at this point we should leave it open to your 'best shot' from 2010 and do some planning for next year. Everyone already knows what shots they've got on their computer so there's no point in picking the topic now. I don't think that giving people a single, holiday-oriented winter month to shoot something is very fair, either. I say just post up your best stuff and then we can figure out what we wanna do for '11 nice and early.

So, is a ring flash considered "off camera" if I am shooting through the center? I still use an El Skyport to trigger it so I am not bound by a sync cable. Some of my better shots of hot models are using a ring flash.

Who cares...
Post your BEST SHOT. It can be anything you want. You have two weeks to post something.
Someone start a new thread and lets do this...

Here is one I like. This was an Alien Bees ring flash used at 1/2 power. I had a Moon soft box on it and the entire set-up was tripod mounted. The camera was a 5D Mark II and a 24-70 2.8. I trigger all my flashes using Elinchrom El Skyports which have never once not fired (unlike the Canon ST-E2 which makes me pull my hair out). Model is Christina.

This. It'd be cool just to have everyone submit a shot for 2010, no criteria, and then after
Jan 1 we can set up a one, two week voting window for the photos, with certain rules. Once the first of the year comes, we can start monthly contests/assignments. Thoughts on that?
