Wake Backpacks

Any thoughts on a good backpack to take on the boat? I would be using it to carry a towel, extra t-shirt, sunscreen, phone, walet etc.

I have friends that have the Dakine 101 and like it. What do you guys think of the Dakine's and would the 101 be your choice? What other brands do you prefer?

I rock a Dakine Heli Pro 20 for my boat bag.

Looks nice...I just wonder if some of the "snow" designated areas wouldn't carry over well as a general boat bag.

I prefer a military-esque pack actually...the voodoo tobago. It allows me plenty of room for wetsuits, towels, food, knee braces, etc. and the ability to hang my junk off the side of the pack to dry when I am done... It's also a bit expandable and customizable which is nice.

Fanny-Packs are where it is at for 2011. Big enough for Keys, wallet, phone, stubby screw-driver, tube of zinc and a powerbar.

Unless it is dead of winter and there are only 2 of us on the boat there is no reason to bring your whole closet. Leave your change of clothes, extra towel, hair dryer, toothbrush and sink in the car. Dudes with giant backpacks on the boat are like chicks with the super-over-sized purses. What the heck do you guys keep in there? You are geared up for a heli-drop and we are just spending a day on the lake.

This comment is meant to be half funny, except for the fanny-pack part, that part is dead serious.

I agree and don't want to lug around a huge backpack. There is a lot of stuff to bring at times though...sunscreen, towel, keys, walet, sunglasses (place to put them when you're riding), tape (for my blown out brace straps), knee brace, etc.

I have a 10 year old Hyperlite backpack I like but it just has two main compartments. So all the "little" stuff is thrown together in a pretty big front compartment and it is impossible to find anything. So I want something not too big but that has a large main compartment and a couple of smaller storage areas.

Well Maybe I am partial but this is the best bag I have ever owned.

It is super waterproof. I have actually snorkeled with it on and waded through rivers without my camera gear getting wet. However, for on-boat action it's overkill. It only has one pocket on the inside so it's hard to organize/find you stuff in it. For on the boat, if I bring a bag, I generally bring my Dakine HeliSport II ...water resistant enough for anything that should be getting in the boat.

If any liquid force reps are out there and listening, bring this backpack back and don't do it in camo. I've had that backpack for about 6 years now, its been run over by a car, lit on fire, beer spilt on it, etc... and it is splitting at the seems and it's still a great pack. CD pocket, MP3 player pocket, sunglass pocket, lapstop sleeve, plenty of space, and a built in soft cooler (12oz. cans, you can fit about 14 if you really cram 'em).

black nike 6.0. perfect pockets. spot for wet clothing. spot for wallet and celly. and a soft cloth pocket spot for your shades.

I fit both CTI braces, towel, shades, pair of sandals, wattle bottle, t-shirt, screw driver, extra parts, and contact lens case/solution. its got a zipped up pocket on one of the straps to put your phone in. and you can fit your keys and wallet in the top pocket. it even has hidden skate straps although the pic doesn't show it. this Byerly bag is the best boat bag i've had and its not too bulky with all that stuff. everything fits perfect too.
