You STOP the Rust with "Zero Rust" https://www.zero-rust.com/ You paint the Zero Rust Right onto the Rust ,NO NEED TO GRIND THE RUST... then Use my Fiberglass filler and Bondo,And then Primer...

I work on old cars a lot and I have for decades. "Zero Rust" is not a miracle cure for rust..it'll just continue to do its thing under and behind that rocker. Did you just apply carbon over those holes? The only IMO acceptable repair is to cut out the rust and weld in good metal. That will last a while, but that's it. It will just piss off the next owner who discovers it. Listen to what Neil Young said...."Rust never sleeps".

It ain't never gonna be a show car. It certainly ain't gonna last forever. But, it's good enough to get it back on the road I guess.

I hate to be the next owner... and discover repairs like that. As long as you disclose your method...no harm its a driver

Darrel. That Ghia is awesome. It’s cool how older VWs Bus’s are going threw the roof $$$. That compi bus is cool. My first car was a 62 Convert bug. I traded it for a 69 911. Man older 911’s are bank now

^^^Nice! Tasteful work on the cabrio. Have you seen the price of early 4.5 inch Fuchs rims...$2000 each! Desirable VW's are old Porsche prices and early Porsche or anything air cooled Porsche is crazy $$. You should have kept the early 911. One is on my bucket list...356 or mid 60's 911. Love all that stuff.

That convert was my first car that picture was taken in 1986. When the cal bug and mini truck fad was going strong.
I payed like $500 for the Fuch’s at a swap meet LOL that convert had a W convert deck lid and other cool parts as well like Early tail lights. Best of all it had 4-12’s Cervin Vega in the back all powerd by old school Zapco amps & Nakamichi crossovers Zapco
pS200 EQ Morel Mids & Tweets I had one of the first CD players by Sony, damm that thing used to bump!
