So I was able to demo the code 22 this summer thanks to my local dealer (Sundown marine and sport, if you are ever in the Tri-cities, WA, area they awesome dudes to do business with) and really liked it (bought a ronix one modello this season and felt like it was really slow and didn't really pop all that great, rode the time bomb when danny came for a demo day ((super cool guy)), but realized that the code is more my style). My problem is that I really can only demo the Ronix line as they are a Ronix only dealer, I love Ronix, been riding them quite a while, but also want to make sure that i'm not missing out on anything. I really like the speed of the Code and wonder if the marek or murray are similar? I'm honestly just looking for a fast, poppy (who isn't?), board that tracks fairly well (not looking for crazy locked in, but not a huge fan of the "skate-like" feel). If any of you guys have any experience with these or any others that fit this description I would really appreciate the input.

if you want the 3 stage boot and a fast board then check out the Obrien Decade. I have a monarch gold top, Byerly AR1, and i checked out a Obrien Decade and I can honestly say the Decade is faster than both my byerlys and any Murray board I've ever ridden and still has crazy pop. The only reason I don't ride it as my #1 board is I love the smoothness of the AR1 and the confidence it gives me while trying to learn new tricks, but that Decade is crazy fast and boots you up and out. I doubt the O'Brien will hold up to abuse like my AR1 but for boat riding check out the Decade, plus you can pick one up cheap on ebay, i spent less than $100 shipped for a new Decade.

I rode the Murray all season and it's a sweet board for sure. I don't have a lot to compare it to and have no experience with the marek or code 22, but highly recommend the Murray.

You mention not wanting a board that's too locked in on edge but also don't want something too slippery, definite qualities of the Murray. It's locked in when holding an edge but can get really loose in the neutral position. Surface spins are effortless and I don't ever worry about it sliding out on a hard edge. Great pop, landings are soft, and it's very forgiving. I've had several close calls that would have been some bad diggers on other boards. The Murray is a great shape, I'm a big fan.
