600 hours is nothing as long as it was taken care of. I have sold 37 of my boats in the last 16 years and 90% of them had over 500 hours. 6 or 7 of them had over 800 hours! I take really good care of my boats and you could never tell that they had that many hours. Here are 2 that my local dealer has for sale for me right now...

I just bought a boat with 800 hours. So that tells you my opinion.

Most of these engines are marinized GM smallblocks. Old, proven designs...easy and cheap to work on...durable. If we were talking high compression direct injection turbo engines (like many new cars), I would be a bit more scared.

We have sold several school boats with 4000-5000+ hours on them, still running on original drivetrains. 600 hours is nothing........

It's all about how they are maintained, and taken care of.

Bought my current one with 600, now well over 1700 (Super Sport Nautique). My old 1985 Nautique 2001 I bought with 1500 (engine had just had a rebuild on that one) and sold it with 3000 hours on it. So no worries at 600 if it's been cared for!
