Fat Sac on swim platform?

So I ran across the old wake tank the other day that attaches to the swim platform and was thinking that it looks like an awesome idea. Does anyone know if these actually worked and if so why they don't produce them anymore???

un needed drag/ strain on the platform?

B/c it takes up your whole swim platform. just put it in the boat...

I had a friend that used it up until last year. it was easy and quick to fill and drain. It also mounted under the platform so it was out of the way. The only down side..... strain on the platform.

i dunno, it sounds kinda sketchy
and a broken platform is definatly something you dont wanna have to deal with

I remember those things, and yes they mounted under, not on. If I remember correctly they just didn't work all that well, and the fact that they don't make them anymore kinda answers the question if they were a good idea.

This is what they looked like...if I'm correct the whole deal was that it was supposed to impact the wake way more because the weight was distributed behind the transom...if so couldn't you just put like a 200 lb sack back there and it would be the same thing? I just wanted to know for the people that have used one did the wake get way bigger from it or not really??

Also gene I ran across this on a prostar that was for sale on ebay. They don't make them anymore but the guy that had it said it was pretty sweet and didn't hurt his boat. I tried to buy the tank off him but he was trading it in if it didn't sell and said they expected the tank as part of the trade in.

It has been awhile since I have seen a Waketank. I always wondered how well they worked. I also have wondered why manufacturers never did a tank that was that far back.

nice, that will rip your platform off over time. lol i would never run something like that on a boat,

i would imagine you would need less weight than having a sac in the boat... a torque type thing to sink just the rear

IMO, i think it would be worth getting a wedge or a wakeplate, and offset the cost it would take to replace the platform if it fell off

Swim platforms can hold a surprisingly high amount of weight.

With the weight that far back it would make your wake really vert. It would make my Nautique wake into a wall.

ya but a platform doesnt have a constant 300lb or what ever load on it, and when it goes over a roller or rough water, i would think that the weight and load caused would rattle that sucker out over time. now you have 4 holes in your boat prematurely.

ill stick with sacks in the floor and rot out my floor instead! lmao.
