So me and some friends are all gonna throw some money towards a boat and put a tower on it and some sacs in it... My question is how hard is it to get these universal towers mounted??? Is it a job for proffesionals??? If so how much should I expect to pay for an installation??? Here is the link for the tower im lookin at.

The boat we would be putting it on is a 1987 Supra 21 ft direct drive. THANKS for the input all!!

I've installed a couple towers, I think if you know your way around basic tools, it should be no problem. Here's the advice I can offer:

1) Buy a quality tower (I dont know much about the one you've shown, maybe someone else can chime in. Personally, I like monster for the $)
2) Take your time
3) Use the correct tools, follow instructions carefully
4) Measure very carefully
5) Take your time
6) Measure again
7) Measure 1 more time
8) Drill through gelcoat in reverse (it helps keep the gelcoat from cracking)
9) Don't overtighten the tower mounts
10) Enjoy your new tower, make sure to check all the bolts periodically to make sure they're tight.

Don't pay someone to do it unless you're very nervous around handtools.

P.S. if you're willing to spend a couple extra bucks, DBG concepts here in San Diego makes one of the nicest looking universal fit towers out there.
