Anyone ever ride/boat on Walter E. Long Lake (the power plant lake) near Manor? Just curious as to the water temps this time of year and if it's a relatively safe lake for wakeboarding/surfing (I'm referring to stumps, trees, and other structure). Thanks.

I haven't made it there yet, but I might take a trip there this summer. We live in far north east Austin and I hate driving through town to make it to the 360 bridge. All I've heard about it is that most boats stay near the dam... not sure why, but they do. I'm also going to try lake Georgetown sometime when it warms up.

Georgetown is not a very good boating lake from what I've heard and the fact that a number of Georgetown boaters are coming up to Belton Lake the past few years due to low water and stumps on Georgetown. I hear Lake Georgetown is not protected much for the south summer winds. If you feel up to it, try Belton Lake on a week day. You'll have the lake to yourself and no matter how strong the south wind is in the summer there is 3 areas with cliffs for long straight passes. Weekends are good until about 11am or an hour before sunset. If you ever come up, send me a PM and I'll be glad to show you the lake. It has 3 good sets of cliffs to jump from, a very nice waterfall you can boat right up to, and big natural sandbar boaters chill at. Check this out, not my video but very well made, pretty cool for the ladies and friends http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvikg...ture=endscreen
