I'd probably worry more about long COVID symptoms vs. death. Either way, the more vaccinated the better. Vaccinated people carry a LOWER viral load vs. the un-vaxed. This has been reported multiple times. Here's one study about it from UCLA

“These findings should be reassuring for the general public because lower amounts of virus might translate to decreased transmissibility,” Adamson said. “This is another benefit of the vaccines and yet another reason to get vaccinated against COVID-19.”
So again, it's just not just about yourself, it's about keeping people from spreading this to others. The more people that get COVID, the more likely we see variants. That's the reasoning behind mandates.
