Fat Seat or seperate side/rear sacs for SN 2001

I just bought an 87 SN 2001

Was wondering if best to buy the fly High fat seat with "arms" or buy three seperate sacs?

Like can move or adjust the 3 to tailor the shape better?

Do this... straight line 540lbs bags on both sides of the engine box, 200lbs in the bow, 350lbs in the rear and your wake will be SICK!!! Also, reprop the boat with the ACME 542 prop. Thats how i weighted mine and everyone loved it! You can fine tune your wake by moving the 540lbs bags either forward or back. I always ran them in the center.

three seperate sacs. I run fly high 440 pound v drive sacs on both side of the engine and a 750 behind the motor on the floor in front of the rear seat. I only fill it to about 400-600 depending on people in the boat. 200-250 in the bow will give it more transition which i personally prefer. With that set up I ride 25mph at 75feet.

you are gonna need a new prop, most people run the acme 542 for pre 1989, but a few people are running different ones. Fro-Z will probably chime in, we run practically identical set ups.

I have a fat seat and rarely use it on my 2001. More trouble that it's worth. Depending on the number of people in the boat I can then fill up just the side sacks or the side sacs and rear sack.

I agree and am running basically what Kyle and Kevin are saying. The 542 prop is essential and you will be amazed by it.

You do not want all the weight of a fat seat in the back, not to mention more weight from people sitting there. You will 1) not plane out, and if you do 2) your wake will be a solid wall of vert death.

My last boat was an '86 2001. I ran a 540lb sac on each side of the engine as far forward as I could get them and a 600lb in back. The wake was amazing under that setup. But, as mentioned above, you will want the ACME 542 prop, which is incredible and worth every last penny.

BUY IT!!!!! I only ran the 350 in the back if i only was going out with me 5 people or less. Once i started puttin people in the back i didn't fill the back sack. Made the wake too steep. I think i have a good photo of my wake from my old boat at home to give you an idea of the awesomeness you are about to ride on!

For my weight in the bow, i got lifting weights, put them in a bag and tied it around the lifting ring pole in the bow so they were out of the way and as forward as they could go.

I used to run a SL Launch Pad Sofa in place of the back seat in my 93 Sport. I had to counter it with a sac in the locker, one on top of the locker and one in the passenger storage that ran up towards the bow. All in all I think I had roughly 1200-1300 up front and approx 1200 in back. It was VERY effective with only 3-4 in the boat. It had a great transition and was absolutely solid with that distribution. it was super nice when we were only wakeboarding but tough if we were just cruising up the lake (no where to sit).

I've still got the sofa if anyone is interested. I'll give a pretty killer deal, just let me know.

$330 for the 542 is a good deal. Definitely grab it. I think I paid slightly more when I bought one.
