After replacing 3 of the gates in the past 2 years. I decided to go a different route. Ordered these actuators and figured out a way to mount them. NOt sure of the longevity of them yet, but at 40 bucks a pop and about a 10 minute replacement time...I figured I'd give it a shot.

Are they ignition protected marine built? Have your gate failures been mechanical or electric? I see a lot of gates that mechanically stick to a point the small electric motors cant overcome. Maybe those are stout enough.

Mechanical failure. Not marine built, but should have very little contact with water. They got to be better than those damn drainmaster pieces of crap.

Ignition protection meaning any sparks made when operating are contained in the unit and will not blow up your boat if enough fuel vapor is present.
