A 7 year old playing at recess pretends to throw a granade and gets suspended. Think someone needs to beat that schools administrators. Maybe if he was pretending to be a foreign diplomat at the time of throwing the granade he would have diplomatic immunity and couldn't be suspended. Sad what this country is becoming.

What is truly fascinating is the fact that people like Chris Hedges proclaim to be Socialist because of "ruthless totalitarian capitalism." The interesting part, to me at least, is that our system is pretty far from what Capitalism and the free market is suppose to be, largely, the result of progressive policies in Washington. These people destroy the free market and then complain about the way that it works. I think we have "Crony Capitalism", which is where the law is no longer enforced equally, but plays favorites to people who have influence over those who enforce or make law.

I know that I will get blasted here, but I think Chris Hedges and all the other want-to-be socialists, need to listen to Sarah Palin on Crony Capitalism.

As far as the fake grenade goes, just more progressive liberal stupidity... everything they touch will fail, similar to how it has in every historical example.

A friend of mines kid (3rd grade) almost got suspended a week ago for acting like he was shooting his friend with his hand(making gesture) they were playing at recess. My friend had to go to the principals office and do some yelling.

My kids go to the same school(kindergarten). I am waiting for my turn to have to go in a defend them being kids and using their imaginations.

my daughter got "in trouble" for doodling on a picture of obama on her weekly reader handout. she drew eyelashes, mustache, big ears, etc on obamas face. her teacher told my wife, and my wife laughed. my daughter doodles like this on every piece of junk mail that comes to our house. she has no idea who obama is. her teacher had a sense of humor about it, but was trying to explain how others may view it as hatred to our president, or black people in general. this is how far we have come in society today.
my daughter is in kindergarten.

What do kids play on the playground today? I have never seen a 7 year old boy pick up a stick that it did not become a sword, pistol, rife or missile launcher(depending on its size and shape). Pine cones are obviously hand-grenades.

A clip of a TV show by actors.... just another programed message directed towards a particular audience. Writers, directors, and actors shouldn't be the source the of one's opinion, but instead history, personal experience, and rationale thought. Just my opinion. Aaron Sorkin isn't exactly unbiased and that TV show has been the source of lots of debate, including the validity of the supposed facts that Jeff Daniels uses in that clip. I guess that some people also believe that Martin Sheen was a good president.

I didn't say all the facts he was spitting out were true. I do however like the message that we have alot wrong with this country today. And alot of the principles that this country was founded on have been abandoned. I knew soon as it started it was from a tv show but doesn't change the fact that its great to see people speaking out about the stuff that is wrong even if it is scripted actors.

Like I said, I don't believe in everything he says and I know it's a TV show, but I still agree with the premise of the clip that this country is slowly sinking into mediocrity. The worst part of it is that most people in the country are either uninformed about this kind of thing or they choose to keep their heads in the sand. As long as their daily lives aren't changed, people simply don't care.

Yes Sir! I think we are finally getting to the point where our daily lives are going to change.

It was reported on O'Reilly last night that the kid was actually suspended because he was throwing rocks and not fake grenades.

^It wasn't him directly, it was an attorney he had on the show.

If it was an attorney, the credibility has sunk even further. Everyone knows attorneys are full of $hit.
