Ok it looks like I am going to buy a 2008 Supra sunsport 22v, and I am wondering who else has this boat and what they do and dont like about it. So any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also pictures of your boat would be great. Right now the boat is solid black but they said the would put the Supra emblem on the side with the new graphics if I want. Or I could leave it all black. What do you think?

Just a quick one I found. With about 6 or 7 people and stock ballast. Brownie points at the end if you can spot me flipping the rider off for sticking that trick! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=565334682807&subj=1030200220

Heath, the hulls are identical -- the difference is in the bow weight. The Launch model has 650 lbs, the Sunsport has 400 lbs in the bow. To get the same wake, just add 250 lbs or so to the bow and the wake is the same as the Launch. Stock -- Launch vs Sunsport (assuming all else is the same): the Launch has a better wake due to a slightly longer transition with a less abrupt wake, and is less prone to washing at the top. I modified my ballast a bit to have two 600's in the back, and added a Fly-High Integrated Bow Sack beneath the front seats, on top of the 400 lbs that was already there. With 6 people or so in the boat, the wake is awesome.

They would be the same depending on how you weighted it. They share the same hull.

Heath, That video is actually a Launch 22SSV but the pictures are of a Sunsport. Those boats belong to me and I weight them out as well. I weight the Sunsport just like the Launch would come standard, just with additional bags and weight. The video shows a Launch 22SSV with stock ballast only (1450 lbs) plus 6-7 people. The pictures, like I said, are of a Sunpsort 22V. It has the stock bags in the back and ski locker, plus a 250 lb bag wrapped underneath the front cushions around the front of the boat, plus 150 lbs of lead under the cushions. Believe it or not, I actually preferred the wake of the Sunsport more than the Launch even though they are the same hull. I guess with a little bit more weight all the way in the bow, it took some of the steepness out (which is what I like). Since the Sunsport 22V and the Launch 22V have the same hull, there really isn't much of a difference. They Launch comes with 250 more lbs standard ballast but that can be made up with an extra person or two or an additional bag and/or lead like I did. It wouldn't turn me off that the boat is a Sunsport. Go for it man!!! You will love it. (Message edited by Jon A on November 02, 2009)

One of the best wakes I have been behind in a while. Even the Mastercraft dealer employee's were saying they loved it! Sunsport is an incredible boat, you will not be dissapointed

How can the Sunsport have a different wake than the 22SSV? Aren't the Hulls identical. The only difference I can see is that their may be a little weight difference or in different places because of the walkthrough vs the playpen. That and the SSV has more ballast in the front but you can do the same thing with the Sunsport if you add a sack in the walk through. All that being said they are a real sharp looking boat. I think I would rather have the Sunsport than the 22SSv for the walk through. Can you get the Sunsport or the SSV with a wrap around seating instead of the rear facing seat?

I have an '08 Sunsport 22V, I added the 750 lb rear sacs for a total of 1900 lbs of ballast. It throws a great wake, and with the 750's you can get a good surf wake. I put 150 hours on my Sunsport this year and it is a great boat, the larger cooler under the steps is great for a family. Would highly recommend the Z5 cargo rack, once you have one of these there is no going back to a regular bimini. The 100" beam and rear facing seat options make it great to watch all the action in the water. Make sure it has the 340 HP indmar with the wakeboard prop. This engine/prop combo pulls hard and planes this boat quickly. Roswell will replace the swivel board racks for free, they had problems with them on the '08 models. You wont be disappointed with Supra! they build great boats with great standard options. I would not hesitate to buy another one. I believe the '08 models also came with the 4 year warranty which is always a good thing. This color scheme is Fossil, Black and Tan. (Message edited by fman on November 11, 2009)

Trevor, Don't happen to know where I may be able to look up whether I have the "wakeboarding" prop do you? My 24 belonged to one of Supra's pro riders so I'm assuming it has it (it sure as hell has enough ballast to justify it) but I don't know for sure. It's a 4-blade? I guess I'm just looking for anything that would help it get on plane a lil faster, though it's not bad now.

Cody, Should be stamped on your prop, not 100% on this but I believe its a 14 x 14.25 pitch. Many of the dealers order the boats with this prop, only downfall is your top speed is 42 mph.
