Prop Question: whose has used a 2247 or 2277?

So I got a 2016 Tige Z3 with the 440 motor. It has an aggressive surf prop, the 2419 (15" x 12 with 0.075 cup). It's got a great hole shot but I don't really like pulling those RPMs all day as surfing is about 1/8 of what we use the boat for. We are typically in the 18-24 MPH range and like to ski at 33-34 mph a couple times a day as well.

So, that said, I'm debating between these 2 props

2247 15 X 14.25 0.150 cup
2277 15 x 15.75 0.150 cup

I want to just get the 2277 and be done with it, but am a little concerned about he hole shot. We really don't go crazy on the ballast unless surfing

I understand the effects of diameter, pitch and cup. Just looking to see if anyone is running the 2277 and what they think of it.

which tranny does the z3 have?

many malibu folks are using the 2277 on 16s with 1.78 tranny.

It has the 1.5:1 gear reduction.

I talked with Acme and wake makers and have searched a ton. The consensus is that the 14 pitch prop is the right prop for the boat. So, I ordered the OJ 948 (15" diameter x 14" pitch). We shall see how much better it is for my purposes.

OJ is going to feel lower pitched than Acme. I had 945 (13 pitch) and it was indistinguishable from a 2315 (acme 12 pitch).
