I have just purchased a 2001 Mastercraft X star. It has hard tanks in the stern and a bag in the center. The pumps are running but I can not get water to pump in. I have turned the valves in the back to open. i have tried it sitting still, slowly backing and slowly moving forward. Any ideas ?
Thanks Billy

Impellers may be bad. Pull the pumps out and check the impellers.

if it is a stock setup in 2001 they used aerator pumps correct? Sounds like you might need to make sure the lines from the thruhull to the pumps are clear. Maybe pull the hose off at the pump and use a garden hose to see if water flows through or use a compressor to blow hair through the hose? Basically you just need to make sure the pumps are actually getting water. If they are geetting water and they still aren't pumping then I don't have an idea unless some how there are other valves closed or there are one way check valves installed incorrectly.

They used aerator on that year. They started using reversible in 02 Does it have a manifold my 02 did and you could only fill one tank at a time. It's a horrible system. I gutted mine and did a thru hull for each pump. Try just filling the middle bag by itself.

Def aerator pumps.

On top of all the above depending on care of the boat pull the cartridge/ motor and check the o ring around pump. Put some Vaseline around o ring to help seal pump. Can u hear the pump running? Also pop cartridge flip switch make sure pump spins but just for a second or motor will burn. Sometimes after non use or long storage they get stuck.
