So I got super excited when I decided to troll the interweb in an attempt to find a new trailer for my X-Star (now called an X1).

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...Ms200-96993727

I talked to the good folks at Memphis Boat Center but they only seem to have X-15, X-30, X-star, and Prostar 197 trailers. None for the X1 (old X-star).

My old MasterCraft trailer still works well enough for being 10 years old, but its a single axle and was pretty much a no-frills trailer. For the $1850 posted above switching to a more recent trailer with trandem axles to boot makes a lot more sense.

So I got to thinking of a couple questions maybe folks on the board could give some advice.

1) What other trailer manufacturers do folks like? If go with something other than MasterCraft, I really want to make sure it fits right. There are a few local companies around town that make trailers, VIP is one. I think Extreme is in Cali, not too far away. What are you folks paying for brand new tandem axle trailers??

2) Any other sites that might be good to look for used (newer) trailers beside boattrader?

3) Anybody care to throw out a guess as to what a 10 year old MasterCraft trailer in good (but not great) condition might be worth and who might want it? I don't really have room to store an extra trailer permanently or I would consider just keeping it for an emergency. I have heard that folks in salt go through trailers, so maybe its worth something in Cali?

Sorry, the above link is for a single.

This one is the tandem. $2250.

10 year old single axle trailer is probably worth 500-750 if it is in good shape.

People in Florida ride in salt a lot more then Cali I am pretty sure.

Boatmate makes a pretty decent trailer I think and they are in Tennessee.

Yeah, I figured I would post up the links in case anyone with an X-15, X-30, X-star or Prostar 197 saw this and was in need.

That X1 has a pretty narrow beam, Depending on your tow rig, it may fit right in the back, I hear that long bed super duty trucks work great. That way you don't need to pull around that pesky trailer and can keep your hitch open for other things...like truck nutz.

$2250 for a dual axle trailer is outstanding! Also try DHM in Sacramento...

Check at Magnum Trailers in austin, they make great trailers and are reasonably priced.

Dan-O, if I put the boat in the back, then where do the Moto-sakis go?

Road Runner in Lewisville, right outside of Dallas. You are looking at around $3500 new for a tandem axle and color matched.
