So I was at the lake the other day and pulled up to the marina and saw a woman smoking a cigarette on an I/O as they passed by me. I started to say something...but I didn't know if it was as dangerous as it would be on an inboard. And they weren't really the quality people that'd i'd want to tick off with my comments haha. Any thoughts?
Smoking is bad for your health, a choice people make. Not gonna be lighting up any gas or vapor though. Flash point of gas is higher than a lit cigarette gets. You'd be surprised how hard it is to light gas sometimes.
I just dislike smoking on principle. However, keeping it off your boat can't hurt in the fire prevention category, either. You don't have to ignite gas to burn your boat to a crisp...or at least leave ugly cig burns in your vinyl/carpet.
