I noticed my bilge pump working a little more that usual today, so after I pulled my boat out of the lake I checked the rudder. This is what I found... Are there any serviceable parts in the rudder or does it need to be replaced?

I don't know much about that rudder wiggle, but it's definitely not right!

Also, looks like your prop has some damage as well.

That is too loose, worn out. That looks like a rebuildable style rudder port, maybe Marine Hardware. I would pull it apart and check/measure the rudder post for damage and wear and the port as well. If the metal of the post and port is not excessively worn, skidim sells the rebuild kits. They consist of a seal or two, oring, and plastic wear sleeve. Also check that it's still bedded in well. Could be leaking through the port but also around the port from either age or hitting bottom. Worst case if the hard parts are worn or damaged you can get a new rudder. I just replaced my old worn rudder and port with the new style big MC rudder.

I pulled the fiberglass muffler thing out, along with all the ski locker side panels. This is as far as I got tonight. I'll pull the rudder out tomorrow. Looks like there is a zerk fitting on the side...

Well, the local dealer quoted me $750 for a new rudder and box. I came home took my box apart and it looks like it just needs a new top seal. Ordered from Skidim.com Should be here a couple days- hope that's all it needs!
