Between the other boaters and the state police, it most likely would get taken/stolen. It would have to be a floating type or else the tide would put it under water half of the time.

There might be something in the works already for wakefest, we'll see. (maybe a winch set-up)???

We took the slider down, but could easily put it back up any time. The problem is that the water level is about 1-2' higher in the spring and we would do dock starts off the retaining wall. The rest of the summer the water would be receded so it was too short of a setup. It became something to trip over getting into the boat for the majority of the summer.
Dave,
The cottages are pretty nice from the outside and there is a small beach with lifeguard. The lake is super clean for swimming. The docks there are nice. I didn't know you could bring a boat and keep it, but that would be sweet.

Is anyone riding yet? I know I am headed out this Sunday hoping to see some 50+ degree water.

50+water? I wish! There was a thin layer of ice on the lake after the heavy frost last night. Below 50 degrees is my pain threshold, anything above 50, I ride with the shorty. I don't even like the full suit anymore due to lack of mobility.
Old     (johnsvt)      Join Date: Dec 2006       04-03-2008, 12:20 PM Reply
Full suit has no impact on my mobility, that would be a result of me just being old and fat.
Old     (sp0tts)      Join Date: Jun 2004       04-03-2008, 2:51 PM Reply
schooledrider, ever try a drysuit? Some say they are more moblie, I've never had a fullsuit on so I can't compare. But another option - I don't mind getting in colder water too much with the drysuit and I use mine all the way up until it's time for the heater top (the warmer it gets the fewer layers I'll wear underneath the drysuit).

Somewhere just above the conowingo damn...I have no idea where it is, but I was told I have an hour maybe a bit more to get there. email me if interested.

I was told we will put in in PA but can ride into MD.

I used to drysuit it 10 years ago, but hated that below 50 degree frozen hands and feet. Sold the drysuit when I just didn't want to use it. When it's cold enough that I don't want to fall, I stick to my skateboard. I do hand it to the people who are psyched to do it, though.

Ewing, you might be launching near Peach bottom?
The next damn north is Holtwood which contains Lake Aldred where we use to run. Let us know how Conowingo is after you go.

Click on "views of the lake" for nice pics.

They even have a discussion board on there, mostly kayakers I think. Looks like you might upset some of them this sunday................Go get 'um! :-)

I only went down because a friend got his first inboard, 02 Correct Craft SS, and just was good to see the perma-smile of a new inboard boat owner. It was only about 50/44 down there and was 55/50 at home, plus the sun was shining. I will say CC builds a nice boat, but still have yet to find a boat that handles as well as a malibu.

John, there will be boats in the water and yes you can ride too. The following boats will be there:

X-2, X-15, X-35, X-45, X-Star (my favorite) and the big CSX-265. Bring your gear and try one out! Like I said, I'll be there sunday. It would be a cool venue to meet-up with everyone to kick off the season.

Do any of you know of anyone in PA with a winch? I'll be spending a lot of time at Camp Woodward this summer, and they have a pond or two I plan on putting a rail in and want to hit with a winch. I just don't care to buy the winch to do it. Any contacts or insights would be amazingly helpful!! Thanks!

Heck yeah Dave. I can always make time for wakeboarding . I'm coming up to visit in a week... but i think the water will be too cold for my tastes. otherwise, I'll be up there a lot in May as long as my boyfriend is around at Woodward. I would assume your PA dealership is probably closer to that area? Could you message me some contact info? Thanks!!!!!

Barrett, Where is camp woodward at? I am in northeastern PA on Lake Wallenpaupack. I don't know of anyone with a winch, but if they would let you you can prob get someone with a pwc. Between myself and some of my friends we have a boat boarding almost every day during the summer if you are near here.

Got the first sets in behind my boat Tuesday - water was 52ish and air around 58, felt great to get out.

Woodward is a very well known Gymnastics/Skate/BMX training facility off of Route 45 just east of State College (not much there but state forest).

Barret, probably gonna be tough to find a winch, good luck though. Penn State club will be your closest chance for a pull, could probably be at their lake in a 1/2 hr too. Outside of that Raystown is about 1 1/2 hrs west, Ewing & I are about 2 hrs east at most and you can add an extra 1/2hr to find any other water.
Old     (njskier)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-11-2008, 11:55 AM Reply
Barrett, you may want to contact Ryan or Trevor at Sterling marina on Lake Wallenpaupack. I know he wants to put some wake events/clinics together this year, he's about 140 miles from Woodward.
www.sterlingmarina.com

Other than that maybe a bunch of us could meet-up with you for a day of riding. Penn State rides at Bald Eagle state park which is about 30 miles from Woodward. Here's some other places to ride within a few hours drive:

Bald Eagle state park...................30 miles
Raystown Lake...........................75 miles
Lancaster (Lake Aldred)................111 miles
Reading (Blue Marsh lake)..............130 miles
Bordentown, NJ (NJwakefest June 14th...208 miles

Are you doing any clinics again this year with LF Maven?
Old     (sp0tts)      Join Date: Jun 2004       04-11-2008, 12:54 PM Reply
Blue Marsh is more like 115 miles if you go the fastest way (don't listen to mapquest or google on those roads). I'm about 85 miles.

Here's some Penn State info, I'm a couple years too old to know any of them anymore:
http://www.athletics.psu.edu/recreation/clubs.asp?Club_ID=59
I'm not sure if that website is up to date as far as who the president is, but I'd bet you could call the White Building (upper right) or email them and get a hold of whoever is in charge. Someone probably knows someone who rides Raystown too - the south end would be good, but the north end is closer.

wkerat, after 7 months between my injury and surgery, the extra week or two wasn't too bad. The weather kinda enticed me into some break in hours too which isn't all bad. Everything is running good, my friends that have other boats are all very impressed with fit, finish, wake and ride. My friend is gonna be calling/emailing you about that gator board today(he's so indecisive) but has finally made up his mind.

John, yeah I'm still in the industry. I'm Certified in both Sage Timberline Office and Sage Master Builder which are probably the two most widely used programs out there. If I could be of any help, I can't do too much outside Crystal Reports for anyone directly b/c of how our Consultant Contracts are written, but I could give you an unbiased oppinion on anything you need or point you in the right direction of the cheapest dealers. I'm independent so I work for a couple dealers and I'm not one to tell someone to go with one of these products if its not a good fit (I've had to make a few bad sales work = not fun). What do you need or what are you looking for?

hey guys need a little help...should i have a chance to buy an 06 watson or 05 transcend and i cant decide which to buy...each is same price
Old     (wkerat)      Join Date: Sep 2002       04-13-2008, 6:27 AM Reply
Jason,
They are going to be totally different rides. The transcend is a love it or hate it board. I rode it for a year and hated the 142, but loved the 138. I have friends though who were mad when they changed the shape. Can you rider either first? What size board are you looking for? I have some around that I would sell pretty cheap, most of them never ridden. I would have to check, but I know I have my 06 cwb absolute plat 141, a 06 transcend, a 06 Gator Harris 138, and a cwb faction 138 (i think thats the size). They are literally sitting in a stack in my basement so I would have to go look.
