So I'm in the market for a new boat. After seeing what's out there at my local boat show tonight, I'm a little overwhelmed with the options available to me. If anyone has experience with multiple boats, please help me find out which is the best model for each brand for wakesurfing... not which boat is best overall; I'll be water demo'ing them soon enough. Tonight I was looking at: Tiges Mastercrafts Nautiques All help is appreciated, thanks guys!

As far as I know the "best" wakesurfing boats are Centurion... they have specific wakesurf series types boats.

The Nautique 210 SANTE IMO is the best choice for overall wake performance. I spent 1.5 years looking for a new boat the 210 is the one I bought.

Sanger V237 Surf Series! It actually is set up specifically for wakesurfing with more than just stickers and its great on both sides without having to get a reverse prop rotation. If you don't want to go that big the V215 is great too.

+1 on the Nautique 210. It has a great surf wake as well as wakeboard wake.

How much ballast is in that 210 in to create that wave? As well, how's the interior quality on Sangers? I didn't have a chance to look at them at the boat show. I know they have a great wave, but I'm looking for a boat that is both functional and aesthetically comparable to the three brands I listed. Originally I was 100% Enzo, but that boat just isn't that nice inside at all.

Nautique 220 or 230 for surf IMO. Best wave I have seen is behind a Nauti 220 there is a wakeworld member on here who had the pics of his 220 and he had the wave dialed in.

Sanger V215- V237 Tige 22v-24v Centurion Enzo Sv 230-240 Centurion Avalanche C4 Centurion Typhoon C4 Supreme V226 ETC.... Almost any boat can throw a good surf wave with enough weight. Look for a deep V, all of the above boats have it. Stay away from the top wakeboard boats, they hulls may wakeboard well, but they are harder to dial and make waves. Deep V's still need lots of weight to throw an epic wave. Most of the above can throw great waves with little or no visisble ballast(bags).

Thanks for all the help everyone. Anyone know how Supra's would perform? I've got a 2006 Launch 22SSV, and we sack the hell out of it. Hit about 3000, but we still don't get anywhere close to the waves thrown by Enzo's or Avalanches. The 2007 model year was the year of their new hulls. Anyone know how the newer hulls compare to the 2006 and previous ones? I know they will be great for wakeboarding but, as Duffy said above, that may not be a benefit to the wakesurf wave.

I was interested in looking into a Sanger, but I'm not sure if there is a dealer in my area. I've sent Sanger an e-mail, but does anyone know off the top of their head if there is a British Columbia dealer in Canada?

Andrew, I am basically in the same boat I surf a tige 22v all the time and it throws a huge surf wave! I am really looking at the typhoon(stretched avalanche), avalanche, enzo and tiges. There are no sangers in my area. I want to drive before I buy. Good luck

Talk to a malibu dealer, they do say that the 247 has a deeper v, but not nearly as deep or the same angles as the boats above. This is direct from the mouth of a malibu dealer at my boat show. As I said earlier on this thread, most boats can throw a good wave, only a few can throw an epic wave.

Thanks for your help Dennis, always been interested in Sanger after hearing they throw huge on both sides of the boat. Duffy, our need for those Epic waves is making our boat search a hard job, haha. Too add to that, my local Centurion dealer is so overstocked with '08s that they didn't show any 09's at the boat show (Message edited by taft on February 05, 2009)

andrew, http://docksidemarine.com/ are a Sea Ray dealer in Kelowna that carries Sanger. There is also http://albertamarine.com/ in Nanton, Alberta. They're the biggest Glastron dealer in Canada. There used to be someone small outside of Kamloops. http://www.hondacentre.com/ is the closest to you. They're in Burnaby. I don't know anything about them.. Maybe there are others. I expect Sanger will get the closest to get in touch with you directly.

Andrew, Supra(Skier's Choice) ,VP of Sales, Dan Miller will be at your show this weekend. He loves to surf as well and uses the 22 and 24 series in Supra. He can give you some insight on that product if you stop by. Good Luck in your search.

One thing to consider is the BEAM(Width) of the boat. The wider the boat, the more weight it will take to lay it over to one side. I have a Moomba Mobius and a friend has an X-star. My surf wake is much better than his because we can tilt mine much easier. Just a thought...
