surface 180s

didn't feel good today so i took the p.m. off. decided to go exchange my blur for the LF substance and while there some guys called the shop needing a third so i went and rode. and i did a surface 180 to switch and back!!! first time i've done ANYTHING, except for in my wakeboard class that i took, and that was surface 180's at about 10 mph. i'm stoked!! i love the substance!

when you start doing them outside the wake at the normal speed you ride at try them on your h/s outside of the wake. most people do them on their t/s, but for some odd reason i find it much easier to do it on my h/s outside the wake. everyone i teach can learn them faster on that side also. just a thought.

Congrats!!! Now go for the surface BS 180! I love the feeling of that trick, the whole rotating bs thing is great and it will help you with your handle passes in the future!

The reason most people do t/s is that when you land you are on your h/s. I had an easier time doing the t/s. I couldn't go w2w t/s but I could do a t/s 180. Just remember hip to hip with the rope.

i rode a substance at a maven session and LOVED it..now i want one as my first board..poor college students can't spend that much money though!! anyone want to sponsor a future pharmacist :-)

there are some older substances, i think, in the boards for sale section. if i get a chance to ride this weekend, i think i'll try a 180 off my hs wake (but not w2w 180 yet).

another thing you can try is slowing the boat down to 10-13 mph and work on them like that. I worked on surface 3s yesterday to get used to the handle pass, cause the water was too bad to do any good riding. You can also work on your edging when the boat is slow too. It helps a lot, but tires you out faster.
