Any thoughts on nitrate coating (vs stainless steel)?
I need some gas shocks with certain specifications (15" x 50lb) that I've only been able to find with a nitrate coating, instead of stainless steel:

The seller says these should be fine as long as my boat is not in salt water (it is in fresh water, that might be a tiny bit brackish occasionally).
I have no experience with nitrate coating, so I'd like to hear opinions.
My alternative is to drill additional holes to put mounting brackets in a different location to let me use stainless steel shocks. I'd like to avoid that if it's not needed.
Also, the nitrate coated shocks are so cheap I could pick up a bunch of extras, so if they're likely to last a few years each that might be fine.
Thanks...
