i have a question for you audio experts: should i be concerned about the material that the surround is made out of on subs and regular speakers? i am a huge JL Audio fan, but i decided to go with an Infinity Kappa Sub in my last boat because it had a rubber surround rather than a foam surround. my concern was that, due to the humid enviornment and possibility of getting wet in a boat, the foam surrounds would dry rot and deteriorate faster than a rubber surround.

experiences/thoughts/suggestions/advice?

normally i would not recommend against the foam surrounds but the jl is fine. they use a different type of foam that will stand up against the moisture. i know many people who use jl and never any issues. i do like the infinity perfect also-very nice sub.
