Do you do a 360 with a 180? Or 180 with a 360? Or do just spin all 5 and not think about it? Im just havin a little trouble gettin this consistent and was hoping for a good tip! THANKS :-)

Neither, you think 540 from the start. If you think 180 then 360 or 360 then a 180, you will spot you landing early and take yourself out of the spin.

A good rule of thumb is any time you are adding rotation to a spin you have think about is sort of a new move, not just adding a 180.

Yup... Thinking 5 from the start is what got me landing them. If you do heel 3 and 180 you'll skate out on your butt everytime.

If you're having trouble with this, then just remember not to stop your eyes at 3. Finish the rotation by turning your head and looking away from the boat.

thinking 540 from the start for sure but i definately do a rotation less a couple times before i try a bigger spin to get my pop and feeling right. like Ill do a couple 360s before ill do a 540. good luck

to convince myself i can do it ill just tell myself its only 180 more but when actually doing the trick its all about that amount of spinach (spinnage) spinning whatever

I guess whatever works for you. For me, I wasnt landing HS 5s consistently thinking about it as a 360 then 180 or as a 540...then I tried something strange that works really well for me. I think about it like a HS 180 first, so I get "over my toes" early, then finish the spin. People tell me it actually looks like I do more of a 360 then 180, but in my head I think about it as 180, then 360. I dont actually pause at 180, just thinking about it like that gets me over my toes. If I just think about 5, I slide out on my butt.

If nothing else works, might as well give that a try.

try 180 then 180 then 180 :-)

Honestly, I think you'll have better luck doing a few 3s then think about it as a 5

dang adam....heel 180 to switch toe back 3?!? just thinking about that made me catch an edge!

its maybe best to just make one smooth pull out of it. usually just a little "further" pull into the small of your back than a 3 and keep your hands a movin. youll be surprised how easy they are.
