First a brutal snowy winter and now this. Seattle just broke it's all time high at 103. It's 108 up here in the Renton Highlands. For the record, the temp gauge was showing that reading while I was driving not a stop or after it had been sitting. Forecast says it's only going to go down a couple a degrees for the next two or three days so we aren't anywhere near the end of the heat wave.

Here in Texas, it has been 100+ for weeks now. Only a few days now has it been less than that. I'm not complaining though, I absolutely love it. Makes that cold Lake Austin water feel sooo refreshing!

So you don't think manmade pollution has any effect on the planets weather patterns? It's not just about getting warmer, there are many effects of overpollution and erratic weather is a common one. You don't deny fertilizer pollution in waterways is a major problem, but pollution in the atmosphere is not?????? Get serious and quit wasting our time with conservative political spin.

Yeah it was a s**t show on Sammamish yesterday. When I was sitting at the dock waiting to get picked up I saw this and knew things weren't gonna be good.. A Hummer pulling a Bayliner crash into a Mercedes while trying to launch his boat.... If you can't get it into the water without running into anything, probably not a good idea...!

Cliff, hit me up if you head this way -- We'll be out both days and it would be great to finally meet you in person. To warn you though... it'll probably be a sh%t show over here too... for better water head one dam below Vantage, to Desert Aire. There's never more than 20 or so boats on the entire stretch down there. Steve, you are welcome to join us if you and Chelsea want to make a road trip!

It's been non stop wind for the bay area. I'm starting to adapt to it pretty well. We've only gotten 1 or 2 really hot weeks, then it cools back off. Apparently El Nino is back. LOL!!!

Cal, I used to stay at Desert Air all the time. I have glorious memories of flipping a golf cart on that course. Don't even get me started on what used to be acceptable at park next to the launch. If Vantage is going to be a zoo I may just pass on boarding and head over to the peninsula on the ferry.

I'm pretty sure you stole the weather from arkansas. We normally average upper 90's to low 100's, and I wore a long sleeved shirt to work today.

Cliff, I'm not sure I want to know. (ok, tell me.) Forecast is 106 this weekend at the river... I'm going to head to a new spot on Saturday -- above Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River. I've heard its awesome and the water is really warm... not sure if warm water is a good thing this weekend, but we'll make it work. We'll be at Vantage on Sunday. Let me know if you do head this way.

Cal, above ice harbor is nice, wide above the damn, but narrows up considerably upriver, watch out for the barges. water is 71 at the dam this morning, it was 70-72 at desert aire last weekend. http://www.cbr.washington.edu/dart/hgas_com.html this site gives water temps for most of the dams on the columbia and snake.

108!? Ew. I didn't have AC when I lived in Seattle either. Weather like that would possibly kill me. I hope you at least have some AC in the house Cliff.

Lizzy, My wife insisted on central air a couple years ago. I love that woman! Cal, Gary, I've decided to head down and join the insanity on Washington today. The family is going to load up the little red wagon and foot it along the beach for the air show. I figure if ya can't beat'em join'em.
