I didn't want to hijack the other ipod thread on here so I wanted some info from you ipod experts. I current am using the ipod headphone jack and am plugging into my head unit with a mini jack. I noticed on another thread and there seems to be an ipod plug to rca cable. It also seems to have a mini jack plug. Are ther pros and cons to rca or mini jack inputs?

the usb/dock connector output is a line level signal. using this connection bypasses the volume control on the ipod itself and someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure it bypasses the internal DAC on the ipod/iphone. the signal is cleaner. the is75 comes with both RCA's and a minijack (at least mine did last year) so you could theoretically use one or the other or use the minijack for another media player.

I'm currently using RCA inputs cause my head unit is a cheapo and it works great for us. If you choose that route, Radio Shack is your friend for about $7. Bruce is probably right though about quality. I still have buddies using FM transmitters and they have decent systems....it squashes the quality that way for sure.

I will try the dock connector to rca route. I can tell the difference between my ipod and when a cd is playing. The cd sounds more rich even though I ripped it from itunes
