20% off at the end of the season is a tent sale? Horrible.

With all the great news about boat dealerships lately. I figured when I opened this thread that they were selling their tent.

Hahaha. This isn't a going out of business sale (like you've been seeing all over california), nor are they trying to clear out remaining inventory that's already been done. It's just a sale they decided to have, not sure exactly why and a "tent sale" is probably a bad name for it. Usually those are synonymous with year end blowout, inventory reduction, blowout, or whatever else you want to call it. They do have some stuff in the store they are selling for way less than 20%.

Nu, don't you know? Shame on any boat dealer that is well run and managed their inventory so they didn't have to sell it for less than what they paid. As far as I can tell Bakes is one of the few well run boat dealers in the country.

True that Brett, we're lucky to have good dealerships in the area including mastercraft.

Yeah, Darren looks like he is doing a great job to. Mastercraft has needed a reputable dealer for quite a few years. I think there has been something 5 MC dealers in Seattle since the early 90's. We actually have really good dealers on most of the tournament boat brands in the Seattle area, but Bakes seems to be the Standard that all dealers should try to emulate.

Ken, are you talking about Bakes? They only sell the OEM Delco units from what I can tell. There is something to be said for selling genuine Delco Remy vs something offshore.

They sell OEM parts Ken. Since when are OEM parts cheap, you can almost always get cheaper by going aftermarket. Nice plug for your company though.

They may be for the wholesale side like you and I both know but for dealer I bet that is very reasonable for selling OEM product.

Brett,
thanks for the kind words. Still trying to improve the MC name around here. Its good to have Bakes across the street to keep us on our toes, they do a good job over there.

They call it a tent sale because it`s the end of the season and no one wants to get wet. Other wise thay would call it a parking lot sale.. lol Damn rain in WA..

P.S. they do this sale every year.
