hey buckle. Not sure what the hotshot scene is like ... being a middle aged dude with a very limited quiver. But I have some lake knowledge if that's what you are looking for?

Lake knowledge would be a great start. Do you still live in the area and ride?

Yes. I am in Reno. We mostly go to pyramid. It's alkaline, so you need to do some extra maintenance, and the ramp totally sucks, but the water really cannot be beat. Even on a holiday weekend if the weather is right, you can get flat water.

Aside from pyramid, when there's water, lahontan can be pretty decent.

Bullards Bar is about 2 hours away. The tow there sucks (over sierra then on very twisty mountain roads), but on the right day it's great.

Many Reno people weekend at almanor. I hate almanor. The water is never ever good there.

We never do the mountain lakes (tahoe/donner/boca/stampede) because they're colder.

Frenchmans is close but it's pretty tiny.

Were is the ramp on pyramid? I was looking at it on google maps and couldn't find a marina or anything. Can you taste the salt water? Are the mountain lakes water temps nice during the hot part of the summer? What's your name on Facebook I would love to have you as a connection. Sorry for all the questions, I am just excited and extremely nervous to leave a place with lakes I know very well and a large group of riders.

Thanks.
